1. we monetize nostr events with millisat scale ecash (P2PK)
2. relays collect tiny fees for work. Clients charge tiny event fees for scrolling/new account creation/profile edits/etc. People pay dvms for content filters, search, discovery or other micro services.
3. Bots not people dynamically launch new relays with dynamic fees into competitive landscape of relay hosts
4. People run bot hosts (garage nodes) or friendly VPS cloud hosts run bot hosts. Bots pay bot hosts for machine time with ecash.
Bot father's could collect margins from their bots anonymously or could forgo margin to ensure their bots are maximizing network performance.
A system of this nature would be unstoppable, uncensorable, and un-centralizable.

Great listen from these terrific builders. I still think we are missing the key tipping point that will alter the destiny of world networks towards nostr. We need to monetize events. Tiny millisats of ecash moving between users, relays, dvms, and clients. This will allow us to create an open hardware layer with push button launch that will allow anyone (or bots) to launch new relays, web client hosts, dvms, blossom hosts. This will create a massive economy that will rival nations and be fundamentally unstoppable. This will drive bitcoin NGU and will increase the flow of zaps through Nostr to creators and developers.
Early days but nostr needs to lean into the monetization theme or centralization takeover is inevitable.

I like and have paid for image hosting services for nostr, but I expect >98% of your expenses are tied to free tier business with people who will never pay. In a way, you will always be your own biggest competitor.
I appreciate that jack and many have gone into their pockets to bootstrap nostr. I have poured in about 550€ on my small relay. But, if we don't build decentralized profitable micro services into the system we will just get the same centralized outcomes when the generosity runs dry. If nostr survives and thrives as a protocol, then a microservice economy of image hosting dvms will likely replace centralized hosting services.

I would play around with Perplexity, their search model is pretty good. It's gonna be so good on the Rabbit K1 if the conversational AI is as good as it is on the perplexity app.
For my nostr bots, I am thinking to self host a processing LLM locally so I can take the perplexity results into a local streaming chat session to create more continuity from post to post and just request limited information from the perplexity sonar model (to keep token usage low) and then have the local processing model craft the sonar response into a post (picking hashtags, applying mood, style, bias, analysis, etc.). I am so hyped about it I am thinking to get a rig with a big NVIDIA GPU. My 2GB of VRAM on GTX 1000 series isn't cutting it. 😭

Bit loose at the minute, but I like the idea of creating limited use authorization paths for other users to interact with bunker (for a fee). It could allow clients to set up opt-in advertising, though that is probably the least interesting thing you could do with it.
Instead, I like the idea of setting up a cost basis for your attention so that an unfollowed user could "boost" onto your timeline. Could also lead to some fun and weird meme-bomb stuff (and also some potentially dark shtuff too). I say: Embrace the chaos on nostr.

Another option is the pytrends package from Google. Here is a quick function to grab a random trending search term from the US so that you can feed it into your AI prompts. There is much cooler stuff you can do with google but they are pretty rate limited for free requests.

I am using the 'sonar-medium-online' LLM from perplexity.ai, which follows trending news. They use the openai API, so the openai python package works. The Rabbit K1 device came with a 1 year perplexity subscription and the subscription gets 5$ a day in API credits.

Assuming each video got at least 20 views, then a single video would have a hosting/data/processing cost of 280 sats. Given that most posts don't get 280 sats, the users would need to pay some fee so that you don't rack up a lot of money-losing videos. Let's say you charged 500 sats per upload, then you would break even on every un-zapped video that didn't get watched more than 20 times; there is also the option to sell ad space in the video notes.
Videos that got watched a lot would need to be zapped or rapidly decay. An image linked within the post could be dynamically linked server-side to appear to change, indicating the relative zap-health of the video.
The cost feasibility of this concerns me as people expect video / image hosting to be free. People are so used to being the product that the transition to micropayments for services will be a difficult bridge to cross.

Notwithstanding Barry being a POS, this was actually a gigabrain move. They expected huge outflows from FTX and Gemini bankruptcies and were therefore wise to maximize fees during that outflow period. We'll see if they decide to get competitive once the bankruptcies are done. I think 3AC GBTC hasn't been sold off.

Nostr is a microservice coordination layer that is sometimes used for coordinating bitcoin payments but mostly used for social exchange.
