The biggest issue, as you point out, is resource allocation decision. Do you go centrally decided (communism) or do you go distributed decided (capitalism). Or is there some other middle or completely different way?

Hey nick, what file browser are you using? Is it the standard Fedora one? You can click on the address bar and it gives you the true path. Like elementary's does.

How do you think a monoculture is bad for Google's interests? Wouldn't they want to dominate the market to ensure their lifeblood ad revenue keeps flowing?

@npub1j46…3gm7 @npub1aqp…pp85 Oh both, even all, are contemptible. However given our nature such grouchiness will persist through every time period and system.
The biggest issue is how much power is in one, ad revenue dirtied, hand. If one day they decide to push something unpalatable to chromium they will undoubtedly change the whole landscape. If chromium changes a hard to change api, all other browsers will mostly fall in line.
Also, safari. The joys of oligopoly.
