my parents exclusively had rotary phones until 2001. The last phones were hardwired to the wall. Not a single RJ 11 in the house until the mid 90s when I spliced in a phone jack to my bedroom for a modem.
Even in the 90s, my mom would complain about phone menus because “not everyone has touch tone phones!” (“No mom. YOU are the only person without a touch tone phone.”)
They replaced them when wire to the handset finally started to break and cause static after almost 40 years of use.

I’m saying that Bork isn’t wrong.
I believe Bork would say that as long as the prices either remained low, or did not rise above predumping levels, it’s fine. The consumer benefits from dumping (lower prices), and if the prices return to predumping levels, the consumer is in no worse of a position than before. Why should the government protect, and how does the consumer benefit from, the continuation of an inefficient and uncompetitive business? If the monopoly increases prices (cutting services is effectively the same thing), then there is consumer harm and the government should intervene. So you see, Bork agrees with you there.
What Bork shrugs his shoulders at are monopolies where prices *don’t* increase, or even *decrease*. For example, big tech, or Walmart versus small businesses.
Now the argument can be made that having a single company or a cabal of companies dominate a market is bad for society, but that’s a political rather than an economic argument.

it’s not just that. I think it was Robert Bork who made the argument that the only thing antimonopoly actions should consider is how much it costs consumers. If prices don’t go up, the government shouldn’t care.
In light of this view, Microsoft running Netscape into the ground was actually good for consumers since IE was free and Netscape cost money for the release version. Yet, MS still lost.
I mean, prices certainly should be the primary concern. And yes, network effects are hard to beat, but here we on a much better network. When just a few years ago people kept crowing about how “Twitter should be made a public utility”.
Too many people are incapable of imagining building a better world to make the existing guard irrelevant.

I think that’s a taking it a bit far. I think their relationship is exactly what Trump has said about it. They were good friends that bonded over womanizing and financial deals. Then had a falling out about a teenage “masseuse” and a Florida estate.
Personally, i think the most likely explanation, is the one Trump has basically said. Trump knew Epstein liked to rape teenage girls, but didn’t care. Maybe Trump participated a once or twice, I’d say likely did, but I don’t think he made it a habit like Epstein or Prince Andrew. I honestly believe Trump when he said, “He likes them a bit younger than I do.” Not only is that confessing that he knew about Epstein, but also that it wasn’t a deal breaker, no more than someone that takes their coffee different than you do is.
The casual off handedness is what makes it believable to me

I can tell you this with full authority of someone that went down this rabbit hole just last year.
Not without external 3rd party libraries.
The C++ standard is not Unicode aware. Even the parts you think are, aren’t. It’s absolute trash when it comes to modern text processing. C++ will iterate over *bytes*, not code points. I had to make a library to do this very thing. Sadly, I can not share it, or I would.
Parsing utf8 is not hard, you look at the high order bit and that tells you if you need to read the next byte. If I remember correctly, the number of consecutive high order bits tells you the number of additional bytes you need to read. (Check the Wikipedia article) I think the max bytes to represent a code point in utf8 is four. If you need the code point value, it’s a bit annoying to get because you have to mask off certain bits and shift for each utf8 byte, but again it’s not hard, just annoying
FYI Not all emojis are a single code point. Some can be like four or five code points
