The format completed, I cancelled the verify so who knows how long it would have gone and whether there are bad sectors, it hadn’t found any up to the point I cancelled.
However, I can’t install Solaris 8 because it looks like my keyboard isn’t working in CDE, which seems to be a known issue
Maybe I’ll be able to progress once I get a mouse, otherwise I can try 2.6 which will almost certainly work

Where I am: I’ve got the netbooting sorted - that seems to be working 100%. I think my issue now is the two drives that aren’t “blessed” by Sun. I suspect they’re the reason Solaris 8 and 9 segfault when the installer boots and the reason 10 can’t progress beyond a certain point - they can’t find anywhere to save anything.
The “easy” solution is find a labelled drive, unless someone knows how to setup these two

What I mean is they’re detected by OpenBoot, but because they’re seen as having a corrupt label they aren’t detected by the format command - which is what I’d use to fix the label

Yeah I’m stuck now. I think the issue is that the two drives I have aren’t Sun ones and aren’t labelled. They’re two drives pulled from an HP. This means they don’t show up to be used, unfortunately they don’t show up at all, so I can’t even relabel them

Well this has been a stupendously unsuccessful day. If I try Solaris 10 it just constantly freezes and errors as it tries to install, 7 never finds the bootparam, 8 and 9 core dump

Yeah, I’ve got to sell some bits, I’ve got too many Spectrums and C64s. I think I can make a case for the C64C and Breadbins being two different models, and the same for the 48k and 48k+ - but that still leaves an extra Breadbin and two 48k Speccys - pretty sure they all work, I’ll test them.
None will come with PSUs or video cables - but all those are available online easily enough.

On the subject of the compact flash, it’s definitely the computer - I’ve now tried different cables, compact flash readers, tested the compact flash card. It won’t boot, the Amiga knows *something* is there, but the signals aren’t working - there must be damage from the capacitor leaks

Once I worked out the fact I had to use VSCode instead of Arduino Studio it was pretty simple to get TinyCPC onto the board - a little weird to get stuff running on it, I guess because they’re running with limited resources, but it’s a good start #RetroComputing

Getting closer with the Bush Internet TV case, I’m incorporating the original backplate and the lid will hook underneath it and then I’ll screw through the plate, lid and base to hold it all together. The electronics aren’t going quite as well but we’ll get there #RetroComputing

There are a lot of Sinclair Spectrum clones, and an awful lot of them hail from the eastern bloc, but none so adventurous as the Bulgarian Alf TV game, a consolised Speccy
