Here's the statement on 👉 why [Linux Mint doesn't use Snaps]((https://linuxmint-user-guide.readthedocs.io/en/latest/snap.html)), and forbids snapd from being installed via APT in Linux Mint.
From Linux MInt's web-page...
"Although it is open-source, Snap on the other hand, only works with the Ubuntu Store. Nobody knows how to make a Snap Store and nobody can. The Snap client is designed to work with only one source, following a protocol which isn’t open, and using only one authentication system. Snapd is nothing on its own, it can only work with the Ubuntu Store.
This is a store we can’t audit, which contains software nobody can patch. If we can’t fix or modify software, open-source or not, it provides the same limitations as proprietary software.

### Nala - A Better Front End for APT

Nala is a more user friendly front end to the apt command in Linux.
Nala adds color, progress bars and formats everything in a more human readable format.

You can install it with these three commands:

### Set Up Fingerprint Reader in Linux Mint
>Note: This works on the Dell XPS-13 9635 2-in-1, and on the Dell Latitude 5400 fingerprint readers
>For XPS-13, swipe down over sensor. For Latitude 5400 press ... or swipe. The XPS-13 usually take a few tries.
1. Make sure your fingerprint device is compatible with Linux
- type `lsusb`
- check to see if the device is included on this website: https://fprint.freedesktop.org/supported-devices
- If `lsusb` shows a Broadcom device, you may be able to get the driver in the next step.
2. For Broadcom fingerprint devices, such as the "Broadcom Corp. 58200" on the Dell Latitude 5400. grab and install the latest .deb Broadcom driver package from this Ubuntu Canonical website: (Debian based distros only)

5. Enable the fingerprint option in pam. Hit space bare to enable an option. Make sure to leave the other options enabled so if fingerprint fails you can still log in.

6. Set max fingerprint tries to a larger number, such as 5 or 10
- edit the `/etc/pam.d/common-auth` file and set the `max_tries` equal to something larger than 1.

### XournalPP - Hand Written Note App for Linux Tablets
[XournalPP](https://github.com/xournalpp/xournalpp) is a good hand writing app for Linux Tablets. It should not be confused with "Xournal" without the "PP". XournalPP is much more advance.
XournalPP can be used for things such as:
1. **Taking Notes** (of course)
2. **Annotating PDFs**, which puts the annotations in a separate file, without modifying the original PDF.
3. **Doing Homework Assignments**, which can be exproted to a PDF and turned in electronically.
To install the latest version on Ubuntu based distros, you can install the XournalPP official PPA repository:

Another thing is distinguishing between a forced-collectivist democracy and a freedom-democracy.
In a freedom-democracy representatives can vote to create government programs, but nobody would be forced to pay for, support or use those programs. For example ... voluntary is how Social Security started out, because unalienable rights and individual liberty was how Americans thought when it was created (1935).

Enough to know how apps like "Online Accounts" work and which apps activate and sync contacts, calendar events, tasks, etc.. So you can install them and get the phone syncing everything with your Nextcloud and laptop.
In Mobian Phosh you install Evolution, which is a desktop app. Sign into your email and Nextcloud using Online Accounts, and that will get contacts, calendar and task notifications workingvand syncing. So basically how you would do it on a laptop.
Then you use Linux mobile apps like Geary for email and Contacts. Nextcloud desktop client renders good on phones, so you can use that.
Linux phone run desktop apps, so you can do many things, but the interface doesn't usually render well. Telegram needs tweakinga little , Signal does good. VLC will Chromecast for you, but the interface is near impossible.
Linux phone can do a lot because of desktop apps, but it's painful.

### Enable 3rd Party Sources on Kodi
By default, Kodi disables the ability to install anything from 3rd parties.

### How To Navigate on DeGoogled Phones
There are great open-source navigation apps for Android available on the [F-Droid App Store](#nevent1q…69hs), but they have one serious drawback ... and that is they can't find most addresses. Fortunately there is a work-around for this.
On F-Droid, the [GMaps WV](https://f-droid.org/en/packages/us.spotco.maps/) app will use and abuse Google Maps to get the coordinates of the address you seek, and then forward them to the open-source Navigation App of your choice, all the while blocking Google's telemetry attempts.
Two popular open-source navigation apps are [OsmAnd](https://f-droid.org/en/packages/net.osmand.plus/) and [Organic Maps](https://f-droid.org/en/packages/app.organicmaps/). Both are available from the F-Droid App Store.
Thanks to GMaps WV, the issue of not being able to find addresses has been mitigated until OpenStreet Maps gets to where address lookup works. OpenStreet Maps has made huge improvements in this area just in the last year.

GnomeShellTile extension, if is been updated for the latest version of Gnome. I really like the ability to CTRL drag and drop one window into another window's space.
If not, WindowTiling extension for Gnome.
If you use a lot of terminals and you like the keyboard, then i3 is the way to go.

I don't think most people realize it, but the whole point of "woke" is to be critical and negative about everything.
The term woke comes from the concept of awakening to a "critical" communist conscienceness, where a person has become aware of so-called "systems of oppression" everywhere in society. In Marxism "critical" theory has nothing to do with critical thinking, but instead means to criticize.
