Also, in that article, evaporative cooling is the only one that mentions water. Other methods involve a cooling fluid that is not water. They may still use water to cool the working fluid using a heat exchanger, like how nuclear power plants do, but the article wasn't specific about that. And even if they do that, they may still use evaporative cooling to cool the water (like nuclear power plants do).

My suspicion is that these data centers are using evaporative cooling. They don't pump hot water back into the source, they evaporate the water. It will eventually return as rain, but not necessarily to the same location, and most of it won't make it into the aquifer that the water was pumped out of.
I poked around just a little. It seems that evaporative cooling is one of the most popular methods. Other methods are more expensive.

when you said "800 containers", I was thinking "800x https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intermodal_container", and I was like "holy shit that's a long train!" And I started imagining that the train cars had, like, gull-wing doors that exposed like the whole side of the train so you could load a container in there.
Nope, it's much smaller containers that can be loaded through the doors that humans usually go through. That's cool too.

Here, we use the tap water for washing, but we go to the store and buy jugs of clean water to drink. The fact that this market exists tells me that even the locals don't trust the tap water the way I used to in Michigan.

If it was clean enough to drink, there would be no point in boiling it. The locals here get used to the microbes in the water, and they can drink it and often not get sick. They consider this to be drinkable water.
But clean water has no microbes that you have to get used to. In Michigan, this is what I was used to: Water with no microorganisms in it, coming out of the tap. I used to just go directly from the tap to a cup to my mouth, and drink liters per day.

We just got our water bill for like two or three months of water in Mexico City. It was 286 pesos. That's like $16 USD. No wonder the water that comes out of the tap is full of parasites and is not potable, if that's all the more water costs!

Yesterday I used a computer at the public library. Holy shit, is this what computers are like when other people use them???
There were ads everywhere on the internet. All the desktop programs I was using kept trying to get me to log in and use AI, to the point that it was hard to figure out how to use the computer like a person.
I did a web search and it was hard to locate the answer through all the AI and ads.
This is how people live???

Living in tall buildings is the best thing people can do for the environment. The more spread-out we are, the more natural areas we have to raze to house people. Transportation costs increase. Also, tall buildings are far more energy efficient in terms of heating, cooling, and utility distribution.
I'd like to see a solarpunk thing where every few floors of a building is a village.

Well, like, do you have a house or something? The natural conclusion of learning that the land you live on is stolen is that you have to give it back. Like, I recognize that's something I have to do, but I haven't had the courage to do it yet. Some people would rather think of themselves as having earned the things they have, rather than having received stolen property.
I'll probably be a coward and keep "my" house and only give it back in my will or something.

I do have some things to say about its accessibility:
There are elevators that'll take you from the first floor to the second floor, where there's computers to use and study tables and stuff. But if you want to get into the stacks, the only way to get there is with stairs.

Yes! I stumbled upon it the other day too! I was trying to go to a movie at the theater nearby but I accidentally got there early and I was like "hey, there's a library here, let's kill some time at the library!" Turned out not to be just "a library", but when I mention it to people, I'm like "hey, I was in a cool library the other day" and they're like "Oh, you mean Vasconcelos? I've always wanted to visit there!"

Another thing you might try is Mobilizon. It's a fediverse-equipped program for doing events. It can handle rsvps and all that. It can probably handle emailing rsvped folks better than next cloud can.
It doesn't have the whole document suite or video chat, but it seems like it might be better focused on the stuff you're interested in.

I was once looking into using nextcloud for an event. I might have had different requirements, though. But it does have something like Google Docs, it has forms you can send, it has a calendar. I don't think it has the ability to do email lists, though. But it does have a privacy-respecting video conferencing thing, which has almost all the features you'd expect. The thing it doesn't have is auto captioning. Or even a way for a stenographer to display manual captions.

I have this idea that, even among the natural numbers, there must be some numbers that cannot be named. Is that true? Like, an integer with an infinite number of digits and there's no repeating pattern to the digits? You could never name that number in a finite amount of time.
And, if these numbers exist, then it seems like almost all the integers would be unnameable.
Am I making any sense or should I be sleeping?

My parents are gaslighting me about the danger. They don't think the danger is real, and they plan on laughing at Trump's goofy antics in the newspaper until his peaceful transition of power in 2028.
Everything I say about fleeing, they discourage me and expound on how inconvenient and uncomfortable it would be to leave, as if this is a whimsical choice of mine.
