I’m not sure the snow we get here in Northern Ireland would even count as ‘snow’ in comparison. Lightly-glazed icing, with a shelf-life of maybe a couple of days until the rains get their act together.

I’d love to see if if you find the link! It’s incredible how compelling something that seems so niche and dry can be; the hobby equivalent of those How It’s Made videos. You come to hours later with no idea where the time went.

Also interesting tidbit that they couldn’t sell white metal miniatures to under 14s due to the lead content ruling them out of international definitions of ‘toy’!

Just watched the Priestly video on 40K, and it’s incredibly interesting how much of the RT era was just as informed and shaped by commercial concerns as later, when I tend to think of that in romanticised maverick terms! Roleplay-heavy skirmish games just happened to be the market at that time.

It made so much sense that coming into that weird a gaming situation would favour the natural chaos monkey rather than the pre-planner 😂 And so much clear delight in both their faces as they thought back on the little pseudo-gaming-club they’d accidentally formed before it all got overly commercial.
