Middle income pays taxes for everything. Small business pays taxes, big business avoids them. It could be argued lower income brackets get more out of the system than they put it but the cut off point is absolutely not at the middle.

In Germany at least, you pay inheritance tax on inheriting a building but if you inherit a lot of buildings, that counts as a corporation and you pay no tax.

Yeah, it's gonna be something like that. Obviously there are some big cities in the orange area, but there are definitely a lot missing. You're telling me the only cities in all of California are on that strip to the south east? I'm guessing there's stuff further north, those cities are just a lot poorer. Definitely some more notable urban areas are left out, just don't know exactly which without looking it up.

I bet a lot of creators want to make their own stuff and not adapt work of others. But the producers love adaptations because they want something with a proven track record. So you often find artists working on material they're not really passionate about or at least not as passionate as about their own little pet project. Of course they're going to try and get their own ideas in. Not that people who made a bad movie and not merely a bad adaptation would've made something good in the first place.
