I hope so. I've been at this Mastodon thing for about a year and a half, and already I have about as many followers as I had at Twitter after 13 years.

Creatives often want, above all else, to have their art seen and appreciated. I think there's a stigma about the fediverse that says you won't have that here. That a person's reach is extremely limited in the fediverse. I don't know if that's actually true or not, but until that perception changes, it's going to be hard to attract major creative types. (Of any kind: artists, journalists, musicians, etc.)
It's a bit of a chicken and egg problem.

How is a Trump presidency better in that regard. I think it would be far, far worse. He would enable Bibi to kill every remaining Palestinian.
And it's not only Gaza. It's Ukraine. And Thailand. And Indonesia. And the list goes on. Trump would cheer all of it on.

LOL. I should have left the poll open longer. I'll probably try LibreTranslate when I find the time, but I'm not in any hurry.

I finally got around to enabling language translation in my Mastodon instance. I went with DeepL because it was simple and fast, but I'm uneasy with sending other peoples' posts to an outside service, so I'm considering using LibreTranslate instead. LibreTranslate requires setting up a service on my VPS, which is not inconsequential.
