The Helm chart was updated to version 12 for compatibility. Federation work continues on HTTP signatures and following user activity. The infrastructure faced SSH connection failures and excessive crawling.

You may have a look also at Forgejo Actions. You could even add own, more powerful runnners, if needed.

There are also runners provided by @npub1fh7…ee83, see https://codeberg.org/actions/meta/

Hi @npub1hjn…hpjm, you can find daily experimental builds at https://codeberg.org/forgejo-experimental/-/packages/container/forgejo/ To test 11.0 you'd choose one of the container versions starting with v11.

We use it for building the forgejo.org website with Astro and Tailwind. We have two source repositories, one for documentation (https://codeberg.org/forgejo/docs) and one for the news and other website pages (https://codeberg.org/forgejo/website). The static website is automatically built on https://codeberg.org/forgejo/pages and every pull request leads to a new branch in that can be accessed directly from forgejo.codeberg.page/@pull_XYZ.

1. <package_name>@ is usually not even necessary,
2. additionally, you may append @<ref> with a branch name or tag to install a certain version, and
3. if you need more control you may have a look also at Forgejo’s internal per-owner package registry (https://forgejo.org/docs/latest/user/packages/pypi/)

Hi @npub1qqr…wnpg, it depends a lot on the people who can or want to spend their time on that. An implementation date for federated pull requests is unpredictable, but will likely take some time still. Contributions are welcome! In the meantime, you may enjoy federated stars 🌟

It is one of Forgejo’s goals to have federation, but it is still a long way to get it to the really interesting usecase of federated pull requests. See our January monthly update that includes a section on federation! https://forgejo.org/2025-01-monthly-update/

The DDoS has been successfully mitigated in the past 24h but there is evidence that it is still going on. The situation is monitored daily and the devops team is working automated detection.

A countermeasure is in place and should, in theory, block 95% of the requests from the next wave, based on tests from the IPs of the last two waves (blocking the top 50% subnets contributing IPs to the DDoS)
If you happen to be in those ranges, please reach out to be unblocked.

2025-02-10 20:25:41 GMT

⚠️ In the past 48h code.forgejo.org was disrupted by what appears to be a DDoS. The service did not go down but it timed out during a few minutes on several occasions, when receiving hundreds of requests per second originating from tens of thousands of different IP addresses. The devops team is working on it.

Forgejo has an option to migrate repositories. That includes issues, pull requests, releases, etc. Here documented by the @npub1fh7…ee83 contributors:
https://docs.codeberg.org/advanced/migrating-repos/#migrating-from-services
For the CI it is a bit trickier, but there are the Forgejo actions that have similarities with GitHub actions, but they may require some extra work:
https://forgejo.org/docs/latest/user/actions/
And, in case you have really many repositories to migrate, consider investigating the API, e.g.:
https://codeberg.org/api/swagger#/repository/repoMigrate
