Thinking about starting a channel on PeerTube called "RPM: Music, Bikes, and Open Source".
I've been kicking around something like this for a while and I've thought about doing some stuff like this on @npub1prd…e8vc but it just feels out of place on a @npub16ee…xkzz channel.

that is not historically true. NIN put out 2 CC albums (or 5, depending on how you count).
Smashing Pumpkins has a CC album.
Beastie Boys has a CC track.
But all of those were well over a decade ago.
Stetasonic was on Warner Bros and then some of them have been on blocSonic releases.
Pete Miser of Five Fingers of Funk was Dido's DJ.
Snarky Puppy was on Universal
I'm sure if I spent any time at all, I could come up with other folks in the #ccmusic scene that have been on majors.

I don't know what this would look like or if it is something I want, but I think @npub16ee…xkzz needs a scope it can actually deliver on. Most of us are in the fediverse. What if we made the fediverse-ccmusic marriage our thing?
Part of the problem with this is what does that mean for something like @npub1ety…5krm chatroom? Certainly that means a PeerTube first situation though I have never gotten live streaming to work on PeerTube. Perhaps that just means owning an instance.

Jessica & I are going to talk about legal statuses (mostly non-profits) on Monday in prep for the Aug @npub16ee…xkzz meeting.
If u have questions, lmk. This is something we really have to get right. It will determine what we can and cannot do regarding raising funds, distributing funds, etc. This gets to the heart of the org on whether we are for musicians, for labels, for fans, or some combination. It's important that #netlabel / #ccmusic folks use their voice

I get what you are saying but that's just not correct as stated. Social media definition: "Interactive forms of media that allow users to interact with and publish to each other, generally by means of the Internet."
Xitter, meta stuff fall 100% in that category.
I think the problem people have with those platforms is the algos over emphasize celebs but facebook still works if you just don't follow celebs and businesses. Haven't used xitter regularly in...idk, feels like a decade

Any #android beasts out there? I use #antennapod because BeyondPod seems to be no more. It pauses all the time on its own. This happened some with my JBL speaker on my bike and I had assumed it was somehow related to some sort of fall protection either in the phone or the speaker but this is a new f phone and this happens all the time and is super annoying. I guess I should try another app but I've got a much of stuff downloaded in AntennaPod. Hmm.

Elon is a douchenozzle but a couple of things:
1. At least he's modified his estimates instead of just plowing ahead with the $2 trillion number.
2. People act like this $2 trillion was rooted in some sort of reality. He was basically telling us how the movie went when he'd seen the trailer at best. It was a wildly inaccurate estimate, but it was an estimate.
I mean I guess the idea is that it discredits him as a business genius. Um, not really, it's not a business.

I'm not sure this article reflects what Jay actually argued but if he said we didn't need to shut things down for any period of time I don't see any argument for that at all. There were literally no hospital beds. the problem being solved was NOT stopping the spread of covid. the problem being solved was keeping people out of the hospital from broken bones playing sports and car wrecks and such.
hospitals needed to get their PPE situation under control. But how long was that needed?

I should run a pilot of a show under the name "Open Everything" to collect some listenership data.
This is an idea I have floated around in various forms before. I once had the idea of doing it on Bikes called Bicyclists on Bikes talking Bullshit.
This would kinda be an interview show but not really. Kinda like Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee but in this case it would be virtual. It'd loosely revolve around music since it would be on the Friends of CC Music YouTube/ #PeerTube
