## Devs Alert!
Let's try this experiment:
I'm going to try to boost productivity of the development of [SatShoot](https://satshoot.com) this way:
1. Will create Tickets in SatShoot pointing to [GitHub issues](https://github.com/Pleb5/satshoot/issues)
2. Share it as kind1 for everyone to see
3. Waiting for aspiring open-source devs to bid on these issues in SatShoot
Why not just post bounties you may ask?
I don't believe bounties are a good way to incentivize development.
You start to work on sth and _hope_ to win the bounty. If you don't win you don't make money, your time is mostly wasted. Only one person or team can win because that's easier to handle for the poster of the bounty. So you don't bother, it's too much risk.
You need the precommitment from the job poster but he needs competition to hire the best dev available. This is why contract negotiation works better than bounties.
However, you can get the competitive nature of bounties with SatShoot: Everyone interested will bid on the Ticket. You can negotiate with the potential Client in DM and even edit things until you come to agreement BUT ANYONE CAN BID on Tickets as long as they are NOT taken. Competition and contract negotiation.
A Ticket in SatShoot is essentially a Request For Quote and an Offer is a Bid or a Quote to solve that problem. I think this model captures best what nostr is about:
Open competition in an Unstoppable market fueled by freedom tech.

Until we don't even realize we are using nostr.
We will just login with the same identity in every app and that's gonna be normal. And we will talk about the old days when things were quite rough around the edges and many of us still used legacy "unsigned and unrelayed" web apps.

On second thought nip51 might be an overkill. We have to fundamentally rely on ppl not deleting their kind 10002 relays from the whole network.
If you have those redundantly disseminated then you just query those and then the announcement events for repos, wallets, blossom servers etc. with the relay hints if applicable.

I announced SatShoot with #ngit as a nip34 repo and pushed the code to Gitworkshop.dev .
The feeling of freedom from github is indescribable.

The best would be to package ngit and git-remote-nostr with nix and publish it to github. [Hydra](https://github.com/NixOS/hydra) can help with CI too.
This way it will be available on nixos.org and easily searchable and be included in a nix config.
Also publishing something nix-bitcoin does like a configurable, modularized template helps a lot. It's a lot of work though.

Actually what was wrong is that I added git-remote-nostr to path with a tilde like
'~/.cargo/bin'
What worked was
'$HOME/.cargo/bin'
I don't actually know why but in the shell everything seemed fine I could invoke the command but git could not access it the first way.

Please help me with this issue and I can pay sats for your time:
## Native git commands failing with git-remote-nostr
I was able to make ngit work and the SatShoot repo was pushed to Gitworkshop.dev.
However, when I try to use git fetch or push or clone native commands with the remote that is configured with the nostr:// URL, git complains with "git: 'remote-nostr' is not a git command. See 'git --help'. " error message.
Other details:
- I installed ngit and git-remote-nostr with cargo and they are recognized on $PATH
- I am using a nix devshell setup with the 'GIT_REMOTE_HELPERS' env variable exported correctly with the 'nostr' string added next to other built-in transfer protocols.
What could be wrong and how to make this work?

Hey @nprofile…crvd I am trying to submit [SatShoot](https://SatShoot.com) to @nprofile…cy6q 's nostrapps.com project via #ngit.
I installed ngit and cloned the repo with fiatjaf's https URL but then set the remote url to nostr://[repo-details] .
Then created my new pr branch and committed my app's details.
The problem is when I try to submit the PR with 'ngit send'. You most likely are not using the relay defined in the repo's 30617 event (wss://git.fiatjaf.com) and the result is:
'Error, no repo events at specified coordinates' .
I am basing this on the fact that I see the relays it tries to fetch the repo event from and neither of them is the correct one.
I am not entirely sure I do everything right but this seems to be the problem. Can you help me out here?
After this I want to push SatShoot with ngit as well.

I think the strongest incentive for nostr comes from the "own your audience" or better put "own your connections".
This comes from owning your online identity.
Nostr will be the only place where you will be able to build a reputation that lasts FOREVER.
Comms need to be directed towards people with something to offer: Serious content creators, businesses, freelancers, open-source project leaders etc. They have skin in the game as they will ALWAYS lose their hard-earned reputation until they realize, on nostr your connections i.e. your reputation cannot be rugged. Don't waste your time on silly normies with nothing to gain, nothing to lose.
So the message becomes:
"If you start to build your audience on nostr apps you will make compounded gains without the fear of rugpull - Otherwise you will be left behind by people who made that choice earlier.
Sure it takes courage. Sure it takes work to onboard your audience and explain how things work here differently but this is such a small cost compared to the guarantees nostr provides: Your everlasting online identity that cannot be canceled, corrupted or owned by anyone but you."
Time is on the side of builders on nostr.

I had to hack #ndk a little bit to make a bunker request with the all the necessary permissions at once.
I don't like the UX when the bunker app pops up a gazillion times at random because it has insufficient permissions by default.

Can't you just use a bip85-like solution to derive a new "deterministic" mnemonic based on the nsec?

If the nsec has sufficient entropy then you can safely derive a new private key on a new hardened path and use that as entropy for a mnemonic.
Since this mnemonic is derived from the nsec, this could solve your problem I wonder?

Nostr will be the most effective way to discover #nokyc services on the internet.
A universal online identity with your social network across apps means that you won't need ineffective legacy ways to establish trust between eath other online with your service provider.
#Kyc is trust coming from the government. Fiat businesses will continue complying and doubling down on it. They will betray their customers to keep themselves alive however short time they have left.
Because governments don't care about their enslaved subjects. They exploit them for user data and taxes then throw them away.
Nostr-based #WoT and reputation systems is the better way. Nostr makes the "restaurant model" a reality:
You sit down, eat, pay and leave. No questions asked about what's your name, home address or social security number. This would sound insane right? That's what most businesses do and what the government tries to push and normalize.
If you are running a KYC business you are an accomplice to this global-scale spying on people. Period.
My dream is to make the truly free market available by careful design with freedom technologies. I think that for digital services the time has already come because there is much less friction delivering value online.
This is why I built [SatShoot](https://satshoot.com) .
A FOSS project that makes #freelancing services possible on nostr. I am done with the MVP but there is so much more work to be done.
I will post content on how to use it and what I had in mind while I was designing SatShoot.
Consider trying it. I am looking for honest feedback the most right now.

I don't know him personally but he's got lots of excellent content on his podcasts, mainly Citadel Dispatch. I listened to and read his stuff extensively. I also shook his hand one time and talked to him about things including Ten31. What he told me was along the lines of:
"I'm also into this VC fund Ten31 but you're most likely better off stacking sats rather than investing in it."
From what I can tell he is definitely NOT a bad actor and NOT just in for the NGU and his supported companies.
Although everyone has self interests I think he had demonstrated plenty of times that he cares about the whole ecosystem when he invited Ten31 competitors on his podcasts many times. He also discloses facts about his involvement in products and openly discusses tradeoffs associated with those products.
I never heard a single unwarranted / uninformed criticism from him about bitcoin-related products. Factor in that Citadel Dispatch is a live and unaudited show.
He's not an angel and nobody, including him never implied that, quite the contrary. I have some differing opinions in areas with him but I can see he's in for the long run and strives to align himself with the movement and the culture like many bitcoiners here on nostr.
Maybe I'm wrong and DYOR. But please don't carelessly dismiss people with superficial statements.

Value is subjective but money is a powerful abstraction people use to simplify the mental burden and try to come to consensus on value in markets.
I believe the same is true of the relationship between trust and identity.
Trust is subjective but we use identities (real-world as well as online) to be able to look at a person from a certain perspective. This abstraction of the person makes assigning trust simpler because we can now talk about that person in a specific context between each other.
Money and identity are necessary to create an effective society.
In the information age we recognized the power of digitized money and identity. But since digitization is yet another layer abstraction it is hard NOT to get too far from the real world with digital money and identity.
I believe #bitcoin and #nostr make the right trade-offs mimicking human nature as much as possible.
They are open protocols which makes global consensus possible but the distributed nature creates room for different flavors:
Bitcoin and Lightning make effective free banking possible with #ecash . The different mints will implement different designs and policies attractive to different groups of people.
Nostr clients will use the NIPs they want and are also able to introduce new ones but they all must adhere to the basic architecture: Signed data relayed. Nostr also lets npubs gather reputation in different contexts because you can use the same npub in all nostr apps.
Which ecash mints or nostr clients are winning is always up to people to decide. But I believe we have the right concepts for an effective society for the information age.

Yes.
Difference: The potential Clients with issues post their problems first and then potential Troubleshooters can bid with Offers for the posted Tickets.
On Fiverr and similar platforms there is no bidding mechanism but Clients buy 'Gigs' that Troubleshooters define as their services beforehand as part of their Profile setup.
Here all you need is a nostr account to get things going.
These centralized platforms also don't use the users' Web of Trust (your web of not spam actually) to filter spam and scam.
They also control your possible connections borh ways and charge a hefty fee.
In SatShoot pledging support for app development is voluntary, however it is part of your displayed Reputation. This is the incentive to support this FOSS project.

#Troubleshooting and #Freelancing on #nostr is gonna get sooo much better folks, I'm excited about this! :)
[SatShoot](https://satshoot.com) (previously bitcoin troubleshoot) is an app I created primarily for #FOSS projects to monetize by offering troubleshooting for sats.
Of course the app can be used for traditional freelancing but I strive to make design choices that improve troubleshooting for FOSS lovers and bitcoiners. Let's look at how it works and some of the features:
1. People with problems('Clients') post 'Tickets' and wait for 'Troubleshooters' to make 'Offers'
2. Offers define a pricing strategy(absolute or time-based) and the price. They can also pledge a percentage of their potential revenue to support SatShoot
3. Clients examine the Troubleshooters Reputation and take the best Offer available
4. Parties can exchange messages via DMs but they should switch to more private end-to-end encrypted comms to resolve the actual issue
5. The Ticket concludes, parties review each other and the Client pays the Troubleshooter if the issue was resolved. Client can also support SatShoot development
- Every event is filtered by the User's Web of Trust (aka web of not spam). If you don't have enough follows yet, the SatShoot account acts as a bootstrapper to the #WoT .
You will however need to have some followers for _your_ actions to be visible to others.
- Payments are implemented via public zaps which are used as Reputation signals in the app, along with Reviews.
- Reviews are implemented using the 'QTS' (qualitative thumb system) originally proposed by @nprofile…r773
- The app uses #ndk and the #outbox model. It will enforce some default outbox relays if you don't have it configured yet
- The app is beta software, please forgive some rough edges :) You can leave a public review on the app as a kind1 text note. I will read every one of them

10 seconds of fame (?) for [Bitcoin Troubleshoot](https://bitcointroubleshoot.com) on the [Bitcoin Review](https://bitcoin.review/podcast/episode-66/) pod. Love it! A few points:
1. Online Troubleshooting is not going away. We are onboarding more and more ppl to self custody and very few have 24/7 access to a rather die. They are most likely desperate in the Telegram hellhole with NO trust signal whatsoever.
2. Nostr is becoming the best trust signal you'll ever get on the internet. Therefore, the best place to troubleshoot anything online will be a nostr native solution.
3. The freelancing opportunity for bitcoiners deeper down the rabbit hole could tap into unused energy driven towards making Self-Custody massively better.
4. I'll do everything I can to make this the as safe as possible UX-wise. It's a process but user driven continuous improvement will take care of this if ppl find my approach useful
Humans are inherently social. A lot of hard problems like private key management seem to only be solvable with a strong focus on this fact. Technical improvement per se is not enough.
I aim to make a difference in self custody with bitcoin troubleshoot. Let's see how far I can get.

Ok, I guess the FBI shows #nostr the way how it can stand out:
Money transmitting services and #P2P markets.
Additionally, I think marketplaces and freelancing platforms are much more of a pain point for people than free speech.
People normally just larp about free speech. But trust me, a 10-20% cut from their revenue and they will start taking things quite seriously.
Just look at the amount of tax-optimization services out there, or the discontent of sellers on Instagram, FB marketplace, Etsy, Upwork and Fiverr.
Which one hurts more? One of your shitpost being censored or one of your products?
I never thought of nostr primarily as a safe place for people's thoughts but a wild west of ideas and _activities_ I can't do or experience elsewhere.
#Bitcoin and p2p trade are essential to this new internet paradigm shift. Let's combine this with free speech and we'll win so hard.

Let me introduce you to a new #nostr client I have been working on:
Bitcoin Troubleshoot is an app for Bitcoiners to help each other fix self custody issues for sats.
Alice posts a Ticket and waits for incoming Offers. She receives multiple Offers but she finds Bob's nostr profile the most trustworthy and he bid a fair price.
She takes Bob's offer who can now start resolving the issue in nostr DM or switch to a different platform for the Troubleshooting. Payments happen any way the parties agree on.

I am not just counting on governments attacking #bitcoin. I am looking forward to it.
Cypherpunks went through all kinds of hardship to finally create and build bitcoin to where it is today. Bitcoin has grown up. We can't possibly comprehend the turmoil this generation went through. Yet.
Now it's time for the "then they fight you" period. And we have to be ready. We have to be strong. But no one becomes strong without living through difficulty.
If we are to become a strong generation of bitcoiners, we must endure the attacks. We must develop resilience. This is impossible without real pressure.
So let them come, and make us ever stronger and bitcoin may thrive for millennia. We are only as strong as the hardest thing we endured. And I fear we are too lazy and comfortable yet.

I don't think we can "boost adoption" by cajoling businesses to accept bitcoin.
I think that the same incentives that work for individuals will work for business owners, therefore businesses too. They will want to preserve their companies' wealth in a real store of value that can be used without permission.
Bitcoiners will be waiting on the other side with a whole ecosystem of products and services. But adoption cannot be forced.
Nowadays I don't try to convince people about bitcoin. I just tell my honest opinion.
If you want to convince people, you're just trying to convince yourself. It is immaturity.
Seeking reassurance from normies is futile.

- Many bitcoiners think bitcoin-based eCash is "just banking with a bitcoin extension" instead of a bitcoin solution in its own right
- eCash people see it as a fantastic scaling solution with a straightforward tradeoff balance
My take:
While it has many similar features to traditional banking like custodianship, it is so much more advanced(easy audits, excellent privacy, offline transactions, bearer asset, easy integration with LN etc.) that it is either ignorance or bad faith to try to associate it with fiat banking today.
People will realize that #CashU and #Fedimint are strictly improving the lives of bitcoiners!
While the devs make fantastic counter arguments, I think we should send in more people who can really stress the main benefits of eCash because devs often fall short on rhetorics.
