@nprofile…58g0 I had a feeling I knew where this went (and I was right), but I'm mostly just entertained that apparently a very slight skew is all you need to throw off every online QR code reader, 'cause none of them could read it. Even my phone camera had trouble until I tilted it to correct for the skew.

@nprofile…ayue The meta-gag poking fun at the "every other city cosplaying as New York or San Francisco" trope is still one of my favorite bits from that episode, honestly.

@nprofile…58g0 Aaaaa, cute! I love the little bee dangling off the bottom.

Ugh. Of course Robyn used genAI on the gatefold image in the new Riven soundtrack vinyl. Of course he did.
I'm glad I didn't order it immediately now, but I'm also just severely disappointed.

#Blender question: I want to draw a cube. But I want to draw it by clicking to set a corner on the XY plane, then moving the mouse and clicking again to set an edge, then moving the mouse and clicking again to create a perpendicular edge, then moving the mouse and clicking again to draw the height. The end result would be a cube that I'd otherwise have to draw *and then rotate* into position.
Every cube drawing tool and addon I can find will only draw cubes by starting with a single click that draws a whole-ass rectangle. But I want to be able to draw the rectangle manually at any orientation, so the final result is "pre-rotated" on the Z axis. Am I missing something?

@nprofile…tkx6 @nprofile…26hz "AI is changing the web" is also certainly one way of describing the unending tide of SEO-optimized slop coating every surface that's made using the web as a source of information and knowledge virtually impossible.

Valve has discovered 3. They're unstoppable now.

So, with Logitech bundling an AI model into their goddamn mouse customization software now, I'm seeking recommendations for many-button (at least 5) mice to replace my G-502 that don't have absolutely dogshit button mapping tools. (I recognize this is a particularly big ask these days, what with the general *gestures broadly* of the tech industry…)

I know it doesn't click with a lot of people, but I continue to be amused by Craig Federighi's extremely Dad Energy persona in these Apple keynotes.

It's a quiet day at work, so I took like 30 minutes and made an *extremely* naive reprojection of the Pod Age map from Uru onto a sphere using Azgaar's Fantasy Map Generator tool (https://azgaar.github.io/Fantasy-Map-Generator/).
The land masses are *roughly* correct, but the topography (biomes, rivers, etc.) is not, apart from maybe the ice cover on Dereno.

Sirrus and Achenar are the most obedient kids who also wanted to kill their parents, I swear. Absolutely honored Atrus's "don't do [thing]" demand about the red and blue Books until *after* they were sure he wouldn't come back from another year-long outing in his latest Age and maybe take his glasses off at them.
Like telling a kid not to smoke weed, so they wait until after they put their parents in an assisted living center to sneak back to the house and light one of the joints they've been amassing for years.

Turns out Google just... doesn't test their code before deploying it to millions and millions of users, I guess. https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/google-rolls-back-recaptcha-update-to-fix-firefox-issues/

@npub1jvr…8tkt I love it when one company owns the Internet's most critical pieces of software infrastructure AND the most popular means of accessing it.

So are we gonna talk about Google causing reCAPTCHA to break in Firefox just after the release of 125.0.3, and it very clearly being an action Google has chosen to take because changing Firefox's UA String to identify as a different browser (like, say, Chrome) lets everything work perfectly fine?
