Today's #anime was K-On!
This is one of those rare shows that is far more than the sum of its parts. The short comedy-sketch-like antics of a certain light music club often have little meaning in isolation. These girls do cute things, but why? What's the point? Does the plot even ever advance?
And yet... by the last playing of "Fuwa Fuwa Time" I was almost in tears at how much these five goofy, do-nothing, tea & cake eating girls who occasionally play music meant to me.
Dai Suki, indeed!

Today's #anime was Goodbye, Lara.
This 15th anniversary project by Kinema Citrus is a retelling of The Little Mermaid. The darker Hans Christian Andersen one.
This new version, currently airing, has been a blast so far. Our main mermaid, Lara, is bright and hopeful as she searches for "true love", but the show is paying great respect to that early darker tone, as well.
It also has wonderful throwback art, great writing, and bits of surprisingly on point comedic timing!
