I'm thinking about restarting my YouTube channel to share positive tech news and be the positive force I would like to see.
...but boy if the mega corps are making it extra hard to find good things these days. Most of the tech news are riddled by dystopian initiatives.
What do you folks use to stay in the loop of "good" tech?

It really sucks that culturally we're wired to only give feedback to developers or projects when things are broken.
A product with 15M users gets 100 complaints and only 1 nice "good job" message per month.
It's really demoralizing that we accepted the fact that "if you don't hear from them it means things are good".
People need positive reinforcement and to know that folks are happy about their work.
I understand it's fashionable to bitch about everything because hate brings views

As we go through hiring a few new people at Thunderbird, it's shocking to see how many P4 and P5 decide to apply for P2 and P3 roles, specifying in their cover letter that they're willing to get a lower salary and role, some because they can't find anything else, others because they come from abusive places and VC funded hellholes.
Folks, it's brutal out there and my heart goes to all the people looking for work and going through these painful times.

I had the accidental "pleasure" of using YouTube on a device without any adblocker and holy shit what the hell was that?
I got serviced 15 ads (seriously, I counted them) on a 6 minutes video.
All of those ads were 20 seconds or longer, and only one of them was skippable.
The crappiest experience ever.
Are people really consuming it like that?
