Should the ecumenical talks occurring between Eastern Orthodoxy, Lutheranism and Catholicism be successful within our lifetime, and should the three largest churches in the world return to active communion with each other for the first time in a millennium, I don't think the world is quite prepared for what that could enable. At the moment, Christianity is on the defensive in the culture war and have been for quite some time.
Between denominational divisions and a lack of firm theological answers to modern questions, both of which are major issues with evangelical Protestantism in particular, we've been on the defensive and incapable of pushing back against the moral and spiritual decay of the modern world. This is one of several reasons why atheism, New Ageism, Islam and Hinduism have been rising particularly fast in the past couple decades.
But if a millennium of divide between the three oldest churches is mended, at least enough to come together in one communion, that would create the largest force of united Christians this world has ever known.
This would be particularly incredible for America. Though most of America is Protestant in some form or another, there's still a very heavy presence of Catholicism, and a rapidly growing presence of Eastern Orthodoxy. A quote attributed to St. Paisios the Athonite (though the authenticity is debated) is a great prayer: "I tell you, one day, America will be holy."
Sometimes, when things look dire, it's because God has allowed things to happen in such a way as to humble or burn away the pride and sinful resistance of a people so that they're open to His Will. That's what the Protestant Reformation was. It's what the fall of Constantinople was. It's what the end of Imperial Russia was. It's what the crumbling of the British Empire was. Tragic events brought about by their own pride and vanity, the inability to look to God, say "message received", then act on it.
The best thing us Christians can do in the interim is to humble ourselves, cease the divisions between trinitarian denominations, and recognize that the truth of what God said in Isaiah 43:19 is not just about the life of Christ, but of the Kingdom that He builds through His church.
Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us.

The number one thing I wish I knew before building Nostr native apps on JS.
Schnorr signature verification is expensive on JS.
Having a global accumulator is smart, but if you use the default Nostr tools configuration of verifying every event on the JS thread as it arrives, you will kill your app performance and it will start to become non responsive.
Move schnorr signature verification to native code, not JS. Move hashing too while you're at it.
Verify only new events. Cache all existing events and skip verification on cache.
Yes, run a global accumulator but don't verify anything at all until called.

I delayed the new Shosho app release with zaps and the rest only because I could not get on top of performance. But, this cracked it. Fable built test harness, instrumentation, all of the above, and the result is ~40x faster performance.
Current test built is feeling good, finally!
