How is there even a presidential debate, when neither of the participants haven even been nominated as candidates by their party yet?
I guess their goal is to see if Biden, in his current condition, has any chance whatsoever of winning against Trump; and if not, to nominate someone else to avoid a certain loss.

A round of applause for the Wau Holland Foundation, please! 👏
"The foundation has so far spent a total of over 16 million euros on lawyers and campaigns, not including the costs of the flight to Australia chartered by the Australian government and guaranteed for by the foundation. In addition to ten law firms in eight countries, human rights lawyers, international journalist associations and the commissioning of lobbying and PR firms, the Foundation has been involved in many activities to draw attention to Julian’s situation and the associated threat to freedom of the press and freedom of expression. The countless supporters who organized local campaigns and regular vigils for Julian also contributed to this result."

Oof, that court kept me up until almost 5am. Good morning!
It's not theft, because it's extortion.
However, since the entire trial so far was a complete and utter joke, and they even contemplated outright murdering him before, I wouldn't count on this being an important detail. The only thing that really keeps him safe is as many people as possible knowing who he is, what he actually did, and what they did to him.
If the plea deal is officially confirmed by a judge, then yes, Julian will be safe from being prosecuted again for the same charges if another administration were to change their mind about his fate in the future. This is due to the Double Jeopardy Clause, which is specified in the 5th Amendment:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_Jeopardy_Clause
Wikileaks accepting BTC donations, when the U.S. finance oligopoly blocked their access to online payments and even Western Union in 2010, was one of the first important use cases for #bitcoin at the time. Never forget!
https://wikileaks.org/Banking-Blockade.html
Fun fact: my profile banner picture is from the mountains above Quito, Ecuador.
Another chapter closes. I vividly remember watching Julian presenting Wikileaks 1.0 at the 26C3 in Berlin in December of 2009.
Less than a year later, the Swedish government issued what we now know was an arrest warrant based on bullshit accusations, intended to get Julian to a place that would immediately extradite him to the U.S. Then-vice-president of the U.S. Joe Biden called him a "hi-tech terrorist" at the end of that year.
After the initial legal back-and-forth, the Ecuadorian government at the time granted him asylum in their London embassy building, where he was then holed up until 2019, even though in 2017, the Swedish prosecutors dropped their investigation against him and the European arrest warrant was withdrawn. But in 2018, we finally got proof of a sealed criminal case by the U.S. government against him, which was the reason for his unlawful detainment all along.
When British police were finally allowed to arrest Julian, mainstream media ran another smear campaign, claiming that the Ecuadorian government was sick of Julian's political opinions, like e.g. supporting the Catalan independence movement. Laughable.
Meanwhile, the Ecuadorian government had changed. After the socialist president Correa had run the country's finances into the shitter (and just by the way, Ecuador is using USD as their own legal tender), the newly elected former vice president was much more eager to cooperate with the U.S. government. So it wasn't that big of a surprise when Moreno signed MOUs with USAID in 2019, which resulted in a direct $62.5M investment, followed by a $6.5B IMF loan in 2020. Julian obviously being part of a quid pro quo.
Then, the worst part began. The U.K. government, stooges of the U.S. as they are, decided to not just detain Julian on behalf of the U.S. government (with Donald Trump being president at the time), but they thought putting a journalist and publisher in a supermax prison built for terrorists, rapists, and murderers was the most reasonable course of action. And they kept him there, in a 2x3 meter cell, isolated for 23 hours a day, for 1901 days.
The process was the punishment. Julian exposed war criminals, who *all* walk free today, and never served a day in prison. And he's one of us. A hacker, whose only goal was to help people by giving them the information that their own warmongering, secretive governments denied them.
There are not many people I have more respect for than this person. And I don't think I ever felt this much sorrow for someone's misfortune, outside of my own family's tragedies.
I can't wait for the next chapter to begin. But I'm so incredibly glad that this one is over!

Then you can update your profile with the NIP-05 address "

Looks like a new maintainer with the necessary C++ experience needs to fork it. Probably a case for @npub10pe…n34f to support?
Also, a bus factor of 1 is not great for the software that powers most nostr relays. A fork should probably go to a community namespace/repo to begin with.
For the UK, there is also https://bitcoineventsuk.substack.com
But those cops can keep their tax-financed job and even earn more overtime pay. The system works!
Of course there are. Every single paid or members-only relay has one for you.
Owning your keys doesn't mean you can't also use hosted services who may have to authenticate you, or store other info about you, like if you paid and for how long. Keeping track of the payments is literally where the word account comes from:
https://www.etymonline.com/word/account
That's what I personally do, yes. But "just use someone else's service" is not what I'm building nostr integrations for.
Hahaha, wow, that's next-level browsering! 😅
"The mint private key is stored in your local browser storage. You should not delete your browser history or else any eCash created from your mint will lose the ability to be validated, transferred or redeemed."
Be that as it may, it's not necessary to even have a special inbox relay in order to receive zap receipts, and it's obvious from our LNURL server's logs that a lot of people don't request receipts to be published to inbox relays. In fact, it's almost everyone I saw so far.
Also, since inbox relays can easily be spammed or DDoS'ed, I won't set one up until I have proper mitigations for that. Maybe you could point me to learning resources about this?
I don't want just anyone to write anything to our relay. But it's easy to fix for relay operators if they do what I was asking about.
I did it for our relay, and also added an improvement to our LNURL server that makes seeing received zaps even more bulletproof, even if other people's relays don't fix it:
#nevent1q…jpp7

hmm, you fail to send zaps?
or zaps are not show?
I wonder if this is a race condition. Do you see the same prompts again, or different ones?
e.g. load the page -> let's be reasonable -> prompt to get the pubkey (which is wrong)
if you reload the page does it then still prompt you from the pubkey?

Nice! Which implementation are you using for the mint?
Everyone should ask providers of paid relays they use to allow anyone to publish receipts when the zap request came from a pubkey with write permissions. I just did this for our own relay the other day:
#nevent1q…jpp7
When you zap someone, their LNURL server has to be able to publish a receipt to the relays you request. If they're not allowed to publish it there, then nobody will see the zap.
I just improved this for our own Lightning accounts and relay over here, by checking if the zap request came from a relay member, and then allowing receipts to be published by non-members:
#nevent1q…jpp7

For those who wonder what "Alby Hub" is... it's the codename for our upcoming self-sovereign Alby wallet. Which in the coming weeks will become the default.
Crazy what you can do with it already.
So did I just create some cashu tokens with a reserve backed by my Alby Hub (running on a raspberry pi zero in my closet) and now I am pasting it into a nostr event, broadcasting that through some relays to you where you get it and now can claim it.
Do whatever you want with it... If you send it out to a lightning address for example the reserve will do that with my Alby Hub in my closet will do that.

Nostr, or rather the optional NIP-05, does not use Webfinger. It uses its own "/.well-known" URL and response format. But a Webfinger response can also contain an arbitrary amount of different links for different services.

Stop running after dumpster fires, so you can invest more time and energy in productive pursuits that actually improve both your own life and that of others?
I just deployed a few things that I was working on over the last week, and some of them should make the zapping experience with the Kosmos relay and Lightning accounts/addresses a bit faster and more consistent:
1. When we zap someone to a non-Kosmos Lightning address, their server is now able to post the receipt back to our members-only relay.
2. When someone who's not using our relay zaps us, our accounts server publishes the receipt to the non-member's requested relays, but it will also publish it to our own relay in addition to theirs.
This means that we now reliably (and quickly) see all incoming and outgoing zaps in all of our clients, especially when other people's relay lists don't overlap with ours.
I think everyone running members-only or paid relays should implement a similar policy for allowing zap receipts to be published for their own users' outgoing zaps. Here's the relevant code in our own policy:
https://gitea.kosmos.org/kosmos/akkounts/pulls/197/files#diff-cc5c58329fae4e65a47568a691835d6d14ab236a

I think everyone running a members-only relay should do this. Unless I missed something, in which case I'd love to learn why it's a bad idea!
#nevent1q…m709
Lovely to meet you! My only regret from the conference is not spending enough time in Nostr booth
Does anyone have an opinion on this?
#nevent1q…m709
I didn't dismiss it, I explained why it's insufficient to currently replace e.g. YouTube.
* Peertube tries to be a solution for replacing YouTube with a decentralized system. It is working well, but isn't 100% on the decentralized end of the centralized/decentralized spectrum yet. Its video player embeds can be used on any platform or protocol.
* NIP-96 tries to be a solution for replacing sites like Imgur, and both it and Blossom are preparing for being a solution (or you could say they're already half a solution) to the problem that e.g. IPFS is tackling.
These are different problems to solve, and if you want someone to "post their content natively to Nostr" then you need a proper implementation of a client+server that implements a real YouTube alternative based on e.g. Blossom.
Maybe I missed where you pointed me to that existing. If not, then I think the next best thing is to recommend publishing to a working YouTube alternative that is open-source, customizable, self-hostable, and not centralized to a single corporation.
Please don't get me wrong, I'm not at all against solutions based on what you're suggesting! I just believe it doesn't help actual creators, or their perception of Nostr for that matter, to tell them "no zaps from me", if they post HTTP links to their own content on Nostr, but aren't linking to a single, large mp4 file using the most widely supported (thus much larger filesize) video codec on a pure file hosting server that you approve of.
Should paid relays accept zap receipts, if the pubkey that signed the contained zap request is on the allowlist to post? I think it would make sense.
I'm asking, because my Lightning account just received a zap with not a single relay in the list that it could post a receipt to:
["relays", "wss://nostr.wine/", "wss://theforest.nostr1.com/", "wss://filter.nostr.wine/?broadcast=true", "wss://purplepag.es/"]
I don't know. I just paid to use it

Set a LN adress for zaps :)
Cool to see you here John!
What is your preferred way of receiving notifications from apps? (e.g. email, mobile push notification, telegram, nostr dm,...)?
It doesn't, same as there is no solution to that on Nostr when it comes to (at least close to) YouTube-quality video hosting. But it is a real alternative that is better than only publishing to YouTube right now, which is what the original post and reply were about.
This is about to be solved with our new self-sovereign wallet. We are slowly rolling this out.
What's THE ONE THING you would like to see for Nostr in the next Alby release?
What's THE ONE THING you would like to see for Nostr in the next Alby release?
yep, I see primal does not handle the webln cancel. then there is currently sadly no way to see the invoice. when alby is called it assumes you also want to pay with alby.
Catus amat piscem, sed non vult tingere plantam.
thanks for the feedback. Keys are never stored on the server thus they can not be pulled from anywhere.
The reason why keys get auto generated was to make it easier for users to get started - it was a often requested feature.
The tricky here is that the Alby account with the lightning address is independent of the key - keys are never stored on a server and thus you have to enter those.
Would you like to store an encrypted backup of the keys and with that make it easier to recover them in such a situation?
The solutions would likely be different for different types of content. Let's take video as an example, because YouTube is such a pervasive platform.
Bittorrent works well for video transport, but by itself doesn't solve adaptive streaming during consumption or compression and format conversions on upload. Peertube currently solves those problems, and can be used until there is nostr-native server software (already integrates webtorrent even). For bitcoiners, there is e.g. the https://bitcointv.com instance.
Instead of rewriting all kinds of solutions, I think it would also be feasible to simply add optional Nostr integration to all kinds of software, like e.g. Peertube, so that instance admins who care about that could just flip a switch and allow all their users to publish to Nostr in addition to RSS and ActivityPub for example.
https://youtu.be/nWeRAlJQI0c?si=xM2E7bozn4yo0nPY
That's already the case, chat control laws or not.
So I don't see why it's a problem to have some prominent companies running centralized services battle this one out publicly with the Eurocrats.
Maybe at least it draws some attention to EU surveillance and control issues in general, and especially in regards to the Digital EUR and European E-ID wallet that they're planning to launch.
I'm sure it'll be easier than today at least.
If they care enough, sure.
Although the more likely scenario I imagine is that Meta and Signal will just officially pull out of the EU, and then the Eurocrats can embarrass themselves publicly if they want to actually enforce app and network bans for encrypted messaging apps. I have my popcorn ready for that.
There is no way to control user devices and the software they run for any of our open protocols, so there's simply no way for server providers to scan E2EE content transmitted via their services.
Let them cripple WhatsApp and Signal. Why do you care so much?
OK, I understand what you're saying. However, inventing an unspec'd, poor man's version of a content-addressed filesystem by just saying "look there are hashes" is not exactly a satisfying solution to the problem.
First of all, and the biggest problem with this as of now: how would the files actually get anywhere else when lost? In almost all cases, they won't be stored with hash filenames on people's various devices that they used to post the media to begin with, even if they could theoretically find all missing source files (most people won't).
But there are other issues, like e.g. nostr.build using file extensions in the URLs, but not every service doing that. It also changes filename extensions by its own choosing.
Then there are cases like longer and high-res videos, where you don't want most clients to download a single 4K source file for example. You'd need a video-specific server and specs for this to solve it properly.
I'm not saying these (and other) problems cannot be solved. However, my initial reply was about content creators currently not being able to "publish content natively on nostr" when it comes to media files. And just looking at the current situation, that is just true either way, hash filenames or not. So there's no point in shaming people for linking media files from any HTTP URLs, regardless of the nature of the underlying service.
where then?
and why not on a podcasting player?
Because you can't upload a podcast's actual audio files directly to Nostr relays, so it's much easier for everyone (creators, clients, servers) to host the RSS feed with the domain hosting the content in the first place. There's no reason why you couldn't *also* have a NIP for additionally publishing and consuming feed updates on Nostr relays. But the protocol is working very well as it is, and is used by hundreds of millions of people without dramatic censorship happening. Which, yes, is one of the important reasons for defending it.
That said, RSS is extensible, so you could easily add new attribute types to feed items to e.g. point client apps to social interactions on Nostr.
RSS is extensible. You could easily add an npub and other new metadata to the feed. No need to use Websockets to fetch podcast episodes, but a client that supports nostr can then also add the social aspect to it.
so you don't listen to podcasts?
One could argue it's even worse than that (as of now), because e.g. on the fediverse, people publish media to 20,000 different servers/domains, while there are probably less than 50 media servers/domains used on Nostr today. And 90% of files probably live on only a handful.
It's still a normal Web silo then. Just having a different auth mechanism doesn't change that fact.
If that server shuts down or censors you (easy via your npub), then the URL is dead, so the link in your event is, too. It has none of the guarantees of real nostr events that are published to relays in the current form of the spec.
No, it does not "publish your content to nostr in a native way". It simply uploads to a separate HTTP server and inserts a normal HTTP link in your nostr event. Unless I missed something, in which case I'd love to learn what!
What exactly in NIP-96 makes that possible? I don't see anything. It's the same old uploading to a normal HTTP server and requesting it from there, unless I missed something.
True for text content, but media content "on" nostr is already not on nostr. Those files are just uploaded to nostr-auth-enabled silos and linked via plain old DNS, same as linking any other resource on the Web.
RSS is pretty good actually.

Good explanation. I would say an API can *become* a (quasi) protocol (see e.g. S3 API), but a protocol can not become just an API.
Wasn't the worst movie I've ever seen, but it was incredibly annoying that they didn't bother showing the actual rescue in the end.

Alas, there's no way to confirm it. Someone could've faked most of that amount.
Enjoying noStrudel a lot! Looks basic at first, but is actually much more capable than most clients. And yet, it feels lightweight and fun.

Why integrate directly, when interoperability is provided by the Lightning network anyway? What's the major benefit? 🤔
That's what I told Frank and Smuggler in person ~5 years ago, when they published Scrit. Alas, they were not convinced. But fantastic that @npub1nc0…z5pa picked it up where they left off! 🙏
Thanks for the policy framework, @npub1q3s…d26p! Couldn't be any easier to integrate with. Spent half the day just fighting Docker to get Deno into the strfry container in our development setup.
Hooray! Just before the end of CEST Sunday, I have completed our strfry LDAP policy, which only permits known users to write to our #nostr relay!
https://gitea.kosmos.org/kosmos/akkounts/pulls/196/files#diff-cc5c58329fae4e65a47568a691835d6d14ab236a
(Beware that you will need to register the nostrKey attribute in your server's schema to make it searchable. You can find an LDIF file for that in the akkounts repo as well.)
There seem to be problems with Deno on basic Alpine base images, and the error is just as unhelpful as it could possibly be. :/

We've been trying to get a bank account for a new Stichting for over a year now. Every single bank left us hanging for months on end until they suddenly got back to us with a rejection, but never stating their reasoning. And I'm not even angry at the banks per se, but mostly at the government for threatening them with heavy fines for not doing the required pre-crime policing in a way that leaves zero work for actual law enforcement.
Fun fact: I'm getting notified via #xmpp when you zap me on #nostr, because we're mixing up and connecting various decentralized protocols in our (open-source) accounts back-end. (And for secondary accounts I usually set it to notify via email.)
Also, I log into my Kosmos account using my Nostr key via @npub1get…0nfm.
Many more integrations to come! Currently setting up our members-only relay, so we can do things like auto-sync notes and media to a user's #remoteStorage and such.
Never mind, just checked and they already corrected the title on the Business Insider website. Not sure if the Twitter link preview will be updated or not.
She could argue that the amount of money changing hands makes it of "compelling public interest", i.e. requires "transparency". A lot of people would probably agree, myself not included.
However, there's an actual lie in the subheader worth correcting, which is that he gave $10M directly to @npub180c…h6w6. That claim is contradicted in the article itself even.
I think that is done in the nostr client - they create the invoice/zap.
In Alby you have to cancel the payment then and if the client supports this then it shows you a copy or QR code.

there have been several issues today, but everything thing should be working again. - actually even better than before ;)
does it work for you?
thanks for your patience! it took much too long.

but everything is fixed. please let me know if you still see issues.

it took us too long to fix this 😟
but all systems look good again, please zap!
;) sadly this is true and we had a delay in processing today for many users. The issue is fixed, zaps are published and zapping can continue.
yes, I can confirm the outage, but the sats are yours.
everything should be back to normal, can you confirm?
this might have been related to an issue that we experienced today where some invoices and events in our system has not been fully processed.
this issue is fixed.
Super sorry for this issue. We had a delay in invoice processing which was sadly much too long.
the issue has been fixed and everything is back normal.
Is the invoice visible to you?
thanks for the info. and yes, I can confirm the delay had affected those invoices. Sadly longer than expected.
But all of them should be credited now and visible in the transaction list.
can you confirm?
thanks!

You should be able to choose any name for a wallet connection in the extension.
oh noo. what happened? can we be of any help and your feedback is very appricated.
let us know if you need help.
It is recommended, yes. seems you are an early user. Back then the Alby account was connected thought the LNDHub protocol.
That one is limited and since then we use a different API which provides more features (e.g. it also shows you the lightning address in the extension)
You can simply go to "connect wallet" and then select the Alby account.
why? it's an open system you can receive with many wallets. and with NWC you can also now much easier send with many wallets.
This is recommended for all users that use the old way of adding the Alby account to the extensions. (the early users - high5 for that!)
you simply go to "Connect wallet" and choose your alby account.
then for example you'll also see the lightning address in the extension.
For now we have 40 that we will give out to friends and engaged users on conferences! But we’ll do more 8)

You’re still schooling me while being ignorant yourself. Almost anyone technical working on lightning or bitcoin protocol level will tell you if we ossify now we’re end up with custodial bitcoin for most of the world
Dude, I know how lightning works, you don't need to school me. And precisely with that I know it's not capable for scaling self-custodially in current state. There's no way everyone in the world can own even a single UTXO to open lightning channel

No it isn’t. Bitcoin doesn’t scale in current state. It’s perfect if you like custodial bitcoin and ETFs
So the bad actor just need to promote good proposals in an ugly way to DDOS bitcoin development? Is it that easy?
For now we’ll not automate channel opening for users but try to make it as easy as possible
But you’ll be able to run it on your computer or in a cloud
Yeah that’s what selfcustodial wallet is
User who use alby custodial wallet with lightning address will be able to launch new wallet and still use the same address that will serve their node
It’s a new wallet. You will be able to connect your alby account to it and remain lightning address

the zap will not be on the alby relay. the alby relay is solely for NWC events (here paying a bolt11 invoices. - which does not know anything about being a zap)
the recipient publishes the zap to the relays set by the client as defined in the NIP57 spec.
try the Alby relay I assume it runs more reliable for NWC.
we need to learn what are good defaults.
so far the feedback was that it helps to see the balance and there was demand for that.
but for sure it should probably handle errors better it seems. can you open an issue on github? cc @npub1zk6…l6ef
set showBalance: false in bitcoin connect: https://github.com/getAlby/bitcoin-connect?tab=readme-ov-file#initializing-bitcoin-connect
and we run a special NWC relay that probably does not run that easily in rate limits:

(we got some features coming for improved deliverability e.g. after an app was down)

🤔 actually I think lndhub should only return the successful ones. and not the ones when an invoice was created but not paid.
what do I exactly see there?
I don't know of any current issues.
we will get there, one app at the time 😉
Yes, exactly!
With NWC we do not need any slow and problematic Tor connections anymore.
You can easily connect your Start9 LN node and zap. I think on Start 9 there is already the Alby NWC app available.
I am even running the upcoming Alby wallet on a PI zero (<$20 hardware) and have that connected to all the apps with NWC.

I mainly was curious what’s the reason or if I miss something on why it is in there. (just as lnurl itself has removed it)
basically, yes. making this independent of the bolt11 somehow to allow implementations that have issues with the description hash also be used to receive zaps.
Good morning https://image.nostr.build/c2942785d577c0aedb4622c3f495cec556155f4f2bcf70611b0e2b154322a88a.jpg
to the point as always :)
even if one would pass some random big string to the wallet, what should it do with the zap request for example? (bolt11 and description would come from the same source)
should it show the scary JSON somehow to the user?
the description is used as a short text for humans. that’s what is shown for people.
assuming a zap request could be shorter than 639 bytes it would also not work.
I don’t know the bolt11 details well enough.
Even if it’s their fault to not implement the bolt11 spec perfectly the state is that some big implementations have this problem.
It limits how zappers can be built. LN implementations have problems, not to talk about tools like lnbits, strike, etc.
those can not be used because of this limitation.
the reader is the sender’s wallet, right?
this is not a real world case.
that mean for example WoS, etc. would need to somehow also know the zap request to do that check.
good point, ecash and other options would also not work.
it might be trivial on CLN because CLN stores that info (off-band afaik)
but the spec should not assume such a detail of a specific LN implementation.
It ties that zap feature close to that LN implementation and as mentioned makes it hard for other implementations.
do you know any other nostr client that does that validation?
The spec says the description hash is used to commit to an associated description that is over 639 bytes.
things might accidentally work because the length is long enough.
(For me having the length decide on either storing a human readable string in a description or a hash for machines using the lengths of the string does not really makes sense - the app should explicitly choose. but that's how it is there.)
LDK, Phoenixd both don't support setting the description hash.
From what I heard LDK might support setting the description hash for long descriptions (as the spec says).
but that's also annoying for implementations (as discussed in the LNURL case) For plain LNURL the description hash requirement was dropped because of that.
This also means no human readable description can be passed along (that would be shown to the sender) (because it's either or)
Join the Alby community call, happening now!
https://meet.fulmo.org/AlbyCommunityCall
and isn't it easy to do this fully on the client side?
for example like this: https://gist.github.com/bumi/050a29cef2f6f9f9d7960d834104890a
making a queue and wait a but until window.nostr is enabled?
I think the window.nostr should be as stupid as possible to also make it easier for other ways to implement it. (e.g. nsecbunker and such)
syntactic sugar and such nice things I would try to put in the client -maybe even some library.
one issue is that this usage of the description hash is not the intended usage by the bolt11 spec and by the node implementations. (LDK, CLN, Phoenix) (e.g a phoenix or LDK backed zap receiver can not work because of that)
Then I feel like this is also a very indirect and complicated check (decoding the bolt11, getting the hash, hashing the request,…) and it seems like damus is the only client doing this.
can we make this independent of the bolt11 somehow?
thanks, what was the reason why CLN does want to implement the description as they do? because the bolt11 spec says so?
to me it makes no sense to decide on the length of a field if it is added in a clear text field for humans on in hash for computers.
if you still see this, point me to a page where this happens.
Quite a long time ago this was optimized and with MV3 browsers I think also made this easier.
There was the discussion of adding an event similar to how it actually works with DOMContentLoaded and other events which I think would be the cleaner way if something is really needed.
@npub12rv…85vg where was that CLN + description hash (for lnurl etc.) discussion?
there is the same for LDK now again.
I feel like on that topic the spec and ln implementation are so far disconnection from actual usage.
to me this is throwing complexity at something and not solving the seemingly fundamental issue.
now suddenly there would be multiple ways on how calls are made and it adds implementation complexity at both ends.
which window.nostr implementation is not available very often?
can you show where?
@npub14wx…gcye where are the socks?
what does it solve? we put effort in to be available as early as browsers allow on load.
and this works:
https://gist.github.com/bumi/6bd2c76b8a83170e2471da50a79aec97
and this will bring UX problems like how to deal with prompts.
why should nostr clients check the description hash of the bolt11 in the zap?
What does this prevent/allow?
I am asking because we dropped the description hash in the lnurl.
And some ln implementations have issues with the description hash.

You can do it now. You can connect multiple wallets and each have different nostr keys, you can even connect one the same lightning wallets twice, and set different nostr keys on each

There was some tool to download list of transactions in csv I think @npub1e5t…7mh9
Meaning multi nostr keys with one wallet?
Unfortunately, this is not possible. Password is stored locally on user's machine so we cannot reset it with email. You have to reinstall the extension
I installed it and barely opened, but interesting concept. Would love something like this on nostr

Also I should mention I meant bitcoin core devs. Sorry for confusion

Bitcoin decentralises its design in time.
- Mining and verifying node —> Mining nodes and verifying nodes
- Lightning node + signing keys —> Lightning node and keys on separate devices
yep, I was wondering if there are some libraries with some sugar around this.
yeah, you can still send and receive :D
but in the extension it shows you more transaction details, shows your the lightning address, your avatar, swaps had been there (currently not available sadly, though),...
Hey Golang people: is there a somewhat default library to do some in app pub/sub event based architecture (without some external queueing tool) pub/sub pattern? or do I just use the normal internal Go features?
thank youuu, and thanks for raising it!
that was very helpful.

this should be fixed now. some users who did not refresh the login in the last days had this issue. The number was low that's why it slipped through the monitoring.
Can you confirm it works for you?
btw. you should also login with the Alby account - you will get some new features that are not available through the old lndhub setup.

thanks, can you help me debug this? and do it again? - maybe 2-3 more times today? this helps me to debug the requests.
let's inspect this. because that must be some error obviously.
can you try it again.
and btw. can I onboard you to your upcoming new product to test soon?
Anyone from Nostrverse joining?
#note159e…ypu8
btw. from the screenshot you seem to use the old lndhub connection. You should add a new account and use the Alby account directly - give you also a bunch of new features and probably solves this message.
that sounds like an error that needs to be reviewed. let me check.

I heard you like NWC demos... so here is another one.
using the BuzzPay PoS app by @npub1zk6…l6ef connected to my @npub1get…0nfm NWC with phoenixd.
the BuzzPay PoS is a fully client side PWA and with @npub19hg…yv9p it's probably the most simple and easy to use self-sovereign, non-custodial PoS.
https://share.cleanshot.com/R24WTtf9
The NWC app you see there will soon be released and runs everywhere.
Clients fault. They send you a request to replace it with 1 follow
What was the service to recover lost followers on nostr?
Due to popular demand here is a quick video of using phoenixd with the Alby NWC app.
https://share.cleanshot.com/Cvpv95FP
it shows:
+ running phoenixd and the NWC app
+ configuring the Alby extension
+ sending / receiving
+ one-click zapping on nostr with Alby NWC + phoenixd (works on web and mobile)
You will be able to use it, too.
But it still needs a bit of work.
I can't wait to hear your thoughts and feedback.
We are also slowly onboarding beta-testers to our new release. Signup if you're interested.
One can already argue that an LSP (esp. if it's the only LSP) would require a license to provide those services and thus an _incorporated_ LSP would implement KYC/AML procedures.
And you're commenting here is on a _changing_ regulation.
So for some regulation in relation to companies there is not such a thing as "just a" or "never".
or what is your take there?
This will not be a second implementation. It’s bitcoin core
So if regulation will apply to LSPs then you will remove the LSP support?
@npub16c0…6nvr do you know what the issue is? does primal validate the lnurl description hash? (which I think no longer should happen)
hmm, that's interesting. does it give you an error?
Can be pruned but doesn’t have to
This is a separate GUI for core that will be merged one day to main repo
it takes a few minutes likely until it counts up. did it go through now?
can I get some more zaps, for some more testing. 😘🚀🙏

it hurts innovation. Wen need to accelerate and stand on the shoulders of giants, and not start from scratch each time.
this also hurts adoption as we can not focus on adoption and usage.
you release a new lightning node/tool/something.
Why don't you try to follow at least a little bit the existing APIs?
We waste sooo many developer hours just because everybody makes things slightly different and incompatible.
