Release Epstein files - lie.
Great read. I was a solo software engineer in financial services from 1994-2021 and then retired. Sounds like I got out just in time. Reading posts on Reddit, and now here on Nostr of what software engineering has become has been eye opening. Spending one's day prompting a chatbot sounds absolutely soul-crushing. And if I understand the situation correctly, even if one creates something of value, it can be reverse engineered and rebuilt by others with little to no effort. To even enter that field at all seems rather pointless, quite honestly.
Every now and then I run across delusional people who think they'll be able to make money as a "prompt engineer." LOL. Naw man, that's not going to be a thing. I think software engineering is rapidly transitioning into a low skill, low pay job of "last resort," alongside professions like Walmart greeters, TSA screeners, and public school teachers. Sad, but it's just the nature of progress, I suppose.
To be fair, this is from his private journal that wasn’t supposed to be read by anyone else 😂
He was an extreme shitcoiner.
Who is this dude? Most Bitcoiners are a bit more.... understated.
Is that really an ancient quote, or is it a Seinfeld bit that AI was told to rephrase in the voice of Marcus Aurelius? If the former, wow, I guess the more things change, the more they stay the same. MA really is relevant after all these years!
Tbf I just realized they also allow for "payment based verification." So I'll probably try that.
I was doing something out of character but forgot exactly what it was. Maybe buying a large giftcard or something like that.
That's so weird. What do you think triggered that? Although I have a credit card on file with them, I just use Amazon cards purchased with BitRefill. And I use a VPN. I'm kind of surprised you encountered that.

Amazon asked you to send a picture?
I haven't played video games since last week haha but I think men need more because they generally have less. How many friends did you have in your early adult life compared to today?
😂 it is hard to keep a clean bio w/ a key. You know who does it well with their site? @nprofile…0fjr
Heard someone say friends are just people you share addictions with

Sorry, I don't feel like replying right now
Yes I seen Cuban’s post and followed him then suddenly not any more but that’s just normal in Nostr . People just on and off . No pressure or anything .
I test drove the Macan and hated it.
@npub1k4p…nqqz my core group is small, a few friends i met through bitcoin over the years.
Well, lately I've been learning about Linux and self-hosting. I'm going to get back into coding again, even though no one really codes anymore. When I was a kid, I used to make fun of old people who took up calligraphy as a hobby since writing in cursive wasn't exactly a relevant skill. But now, as a fifty-three year old, I kinda get why they did it.
A man has to actively create mental stimulation for himself in retirement or he'll end up watching reruns of Below Deck all day, or in your case, maybe playing video games. For women, it's easier. They go to yoga, hang out with their friends and go shopping, drink Prosecco, gossip, and enjoy the day. Men are wired to need more for some reason.
#retirement-life
I have a few actually but we tend to get closer then drift apart at various times. It’s almost like we are seasonal friends haha
Most guys seem to have more friends in their youth and then those connections drop off as they get older. I was the opposite. Too busy working to make many friends in my twenties and early thirties, but established more friendships thereafter. Having at least one good friend really makes a difference in one's life -- providing a reason to stay active, especially in middle age and old age. Do you have a core group of people you hang with?
You should check out the Porsche Taycan. I love my Turbo S. Fast, quiet, and can charge it for free at the local dealership. No gas to worry about.
I'm living it, bro. So necessary to find mentally stimulating ways to fill the hours.
How do you simulate your mind?
I use a second phone as a router with non-KYC eSIM. My main one has no SIM and is on airplane mode 24/7.
I've had good luck with Silent.link on GrapheneOS if you decide you want an esim. It's a data only service. No phone number. It appears that they assign users some random IP address tracing back to Warsaw, Poland. Pay with Lightning. No KYC garbage. Cheap as heck. Like $1/gig or something.
Yup, I recall a lot of Coldcard users had that very same opinion. Let's see how this plays out.
One of my favorite posters @npub17nv…4u85 is taking a break from Nostr due to the nihilism. That bums me out. I'm in the same boat. This place is depressing sometimes. Cull your follows. Check in once a week, but don't bail on it completely!
I think what we need are some topical Nostr accounts. I was thinking of creating some. Like maybe an account to discuss the latest episode of "Below Deck," or maybe an account that answers questions about Ad Blocking, or one that talks about how to set up and maintain a transactional relationship with someone hot, or one that reviews radar detectors or electric vehicles, or how to find things to do after retiring. I'm an expert in all of these topics and none of them are depressing or nihilistic.
Yesterday, I was thinking how much knowledge I've accumulated over fifty-three years on how to avoid greeters and aggressive handshakers in church. I've never really shared it with anyone before. I even have diagrams. I could create AI videos illustrating strategies and whatnot.
I just think if each of us created one Nostr account about something we're interested in (other than Bitcoin) we could create a really fun, quirky, engaging decentralized platform.

Can't help but notice that the bear is wearing a Scream mask. Is he trying to hide his identity or is that just a Colorado bear fashion trend?
Ser this is Nostr.
Shooters shoot
Banger. Gonna remember this
My friend used to say, "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy," and as a winemaker I think that might actually make for a fun slogan for your company, or maybe a cute tagline for the bottles. A retard-themed wine promo would really capture the imagination of Gen-Z which, as it so happens, is enthusiastically embracing a trend called retard-maxxing. More information on the trend below:

This is Anon. I'm hanging in there.
Please post updates on your progress. I switched from Windows to Linux (Debian) for all my server stuff, but my workstation remains Windows 11. I've never tried Linux on the client with a full GUI. As Windows quality gets worse and worse, it's becoming more appealing though. Let me know how it goes!
Thanks man, I'll check it out.
So true! Getting to a point where you're not compelled to work, combined with the knowledge that you can move with your assets if things so south, gets you to 95% on the contentment gauge. Mexican food and Diet Coke fills in another 4%. Displays of wealth barely even register. 1% tops.
Remember when people used to talk about how Bitcoin's price was inexorably tied to growth in the M2 money supply? That was cool. They had colorful charts and whatnot and lots of well-meaning happy face reactions and zaps of approval.
What was the bios setting?
I remember seeing that too. Nostr isn't really a great venue for those who see aspire to be "influencers." The market is just too small. I'm OK with that. I was never big on following influencers anyway.
💯 Yeah, I don't understand the Twitter obsession / resentment. I personally never used Twitter and don't care about it. I have no problem with Nostr remaining a niche product for Bitcoiners, libertarians, and wine makers. I like it here. I enjoy hosting my own relay and bloom server and seeing other nerds building on top of this great little ecosystem.
People who moan about Nostr not capturing Twitter's market share or Bitcoin not overtaking fiat are gonna be in for a life of ongoing disappointment.
Absolutely agree.
Ed Zitron has been covering this for years and I believe he's going to be proven right.

Love the music. Who made it?
There's actually another secret trick to engage with volatile people without lying or telling the truth. It's actually possible to talk to someone without making statements in the first place. Instead, give orders or ask questions.
Okay, buy aside from that I'm going to need to argue with you about civic duty. Could you please post your reasons for believing people should avoid fulfilling their civic duty? Do it in an independent note and tag me please. I need to argue eith you.
