A question for all Nostr artists:
Would you rather be successful without deserving it, or deserve success without ever achieving it?
In other words:
Would you rather make a fortune, knowing your art is empty and sells only because it’s been hyped up?
Or:
Would you rather be appreciated wherever you go, but have no one buy your work—even though your art has real value?
But then I started wondering:
Who gets to decide that an artwork is “empty”?
The artist? The audience? The market? Critics?
And if a seemingly mediocre work manages to move millions of people and generate real economic value, is it really “empty” after all?

Talent alone is not enough.
Your positioning, visibility and the setting in which you present yourself are crucial.
If you feel overlooked, perhaps it is not your worth that is lacking, but the stage on which you perform.
Never let an unfavourable context make you doubt your worth.

I wanted to try a small experiment on XMRBazaar by putting two of my paintings up for sale.
After almost a month, the results are quite modest: one painting received 14 views, the other 21, and there was only one comment — from someone who already knew me through Nostr.
Those numbers are significantly lower than what I normally see when I share my paintings on barattolo.store. Even the posts linking to paintings on my own website tend to get more views when I share them on Nostr.
I don't necessarily take this as a judgment on the paintings themselves. Rather, it seems like an interesting indication of how different platforms can have very different abilities to put your work in front of people who are actually interested in it.
In the end, that's what experiments are for: you try something, see what happens, and then decide where it's worth investing your time and energy.
For now, I'd say XMRBazaar didn't work as I had hoped.
But at least now I know. 🙂

Maybe they're just looking for a little attention to fuel their dopamine fix.
Some have nothing to say and are just here to read what others have to say, and that's fine.
Living well without the applause of others.
Allowing yourself to make mistakes, to pause, even to get bored, without feeling any less worthy because of it.
In a world that constantly demands we rush about and put ourselves on display, it's a form of silent rebellion.
It's not those who have little who are poor, but those who need too much.
Nostr mi ha aperto gli occhi. Certo ne sono dipendente, ma per delle ragioni fondate.
Ossia perché Nostr è la vetrina principale dei miei dipinti dopo il mio sito web e di conseguenza devo seguirne tutte le interazioni.
Però ne sono consapevole e se riesco cerco di limitarmi.

Tuttavia vi manca un po' di reattività in tutte le azioni sull'interfaccia (intendo l'app Android, non so sulle altre piattaforme) e spesso mi trovo il wallet senza connessione NWC e col wallet lightning di default.
Attendo con ansia il Marketplace!
Ho fatto questa semplice riflessione mentre aspettavo il treno stamattina.
Sul binario decine di studenti ognuno sul proprio smartphone a scrollare i social e nessuno parlava con nessun'altro. Una scena triste.

My first Artist Trading Cards for the Nostr ATC | 2026 project 🎨
I’ve created 18 different reproductions of my original paintings, one-off pieces.
They are inkjet prints on 250 g/m² Astropack cardstock, with a matte watercolour-embossed finish, in the standard 2.5 × 3.5 inch format.
Each card is a true 1/1 — only one copy exists, and I will never print another.
Each card features my logo on the back, along with:
Title: [title of the work]
