I honestly don't like the checksum part. If I input a wrong seed phrase, then I won't see any funds. That's all the checking I need to know I should try again. Sure, it can sometimes be handy, but I think it was just a clever use for the extra bits without regard for the whole COMPLETELY offline secret generation taken into consideration (which I value far more).
What's the safest way to do a checksum without risk of leaking, in your opinion? I know you included a script here, but as someone who has no cyber security knowledge, that seems scary. Like you said, it'd be nice if HWW let me enter 23 words and display for me the remaining possible 8. Do none of them do this? I would prefer this, plus it would let me do simple coin flips which is easy to understand.

I was thinking more along the lines of saving the photo to sdcard for verification. But actually thinking harder about this, if the photo is processed in memory, there just isn't going to be a way to verify this.
I don't disagree. At least from a personal position.
I have helped a small handful of people set up a wallet. As simple as it is, when given the option to skip dice rolls, they take it every time.
Of course I'm going to be more insistent going forward... Either you have time, or you aren't ready to start saving in bitcoin yet.
But convenience tools can be useful once you have verified it (and per physical device + firmware, my seed signer is not the same as yours).
I haven't gotten sick in over 5 years. Ever since I stopped taking the flu shot! It was the flu shot all along! What garbage. How foolish was I to take it, and more foolish all the nurses who told me I needed it. The plandemic really woke me up in terms of researching how bad all vaccines are.

I brought this up in a private chat of bitcoiners. I suggested we create a BIP for a standard that doesn't use checksums but still targets easy reading, entry and storage etc.
First reactions were "interesting but I think I like having a checksum".
What do you think?
I summarised my question in the chat with a question: should we bend over to create a seed phrase for wallets based on a spec designed for wallets, or should wallets bend to the needs and wants of its human users?
There are checksums everywhere else, but when we make our own seeds, do we need it? Can we at least append the checksum later as an optional addition for those who want it?
