Lately, working with Claude seems to have gotten clunkier. I remember it being way smarter than this. Now it has this strange honesty and blocker checks that it keeps telling me about. Which is great conceptually, but it’s mostly a wrong assumption about how the app works.
Many things effect the process. I’ve noticed that 20 minutes took 20 minutes on average on my hardware.
But through the podcast vending machine 20 minutes are taking 50 minutes.

I use VibeVoice. But have experimented with other tools. I run these on a laptop with 20xx GPU and only 8 gb of ram.
Throwing bigger models can produce better results. But not sure if it will take away the robotic feel.
Yeah, I get it. You have a very high standard for quality. I find it passable. As I want the info not the audio.
My thinking is to start building and evolve as the tech gets better. Once the foundation is there, it’s easier to improve.
There is a skill issue as well, I’m trying to find better and better setups. That’s on me. I have experimented with different ways of generating the audio, still did not get it to a level I would feel it’s amazing.
What would you say is the thing you don’t like the most about the audio? This would help me fine tune.
Inshallah. Normally it is like that, but once you hit a certain threshold, when commercial stuff takes over too much, whether with an algorithm or without one, certain people just depart.
I don't see how Nostr or it being a protocol can help avoiding the same mistakes.
So, it generating the script and all.
I think the cool part here is that folks who ask for podcasts can make money if they generate good topics.

I’ve been using this for quite sometime, but I thought others might benefit from it.
I have a podcast generating pipeline on my local machine.
I ask my agent about a topic I want to learn about. It goes and does the research, creates a script, and generates a thumbnail + podcast audio, and puts it on my Jellyfin server to listen to. Screenshot from a 10 episode series it generated for me on the ARK protocol.
I noticed people are liking the idea, so I packaged all the pipeline in a nostr client experience.
The more podcasts get generated, the larger the library grows. So you can essentially go there and find pre-generated podcast to listen to.
The quality I’ve reached is good enough for which you will get the learning experience with little to none audio hallucinations.

Hermes + Ollama. That’s what I use.
But yes, I run Ollama cloud, though really that works just as you would a local LLM. Unless you mean local agents are not smart enough to run Hermes.

Oh yeah, we know that one all too well. Same old pattern. Surefire recipe to run a global community straight into the ground: bring in the commercial suits. The fiat boys.
Back in the blogging days, between 1999 and 2005, the blogosphere was made up of a bunch of authentic, weird characters. Then the commercial companies moved in, brought along a ton of forced, inauthentic PR stuff (including the first "influencers" who sold out to brands) and just like that, the OGs were done with it. A few bad apples spoiled the whole barrel.
Same thing with Twitter, those two surely remember, there was authentic, credible citizen journalism. That's how it grew up. Then commerce came in, along with inauthentic professional journalists, and now we've got Elon's Shitter.
And since that worked out so great so far, we'll happily repeat the whole thing with Nostr. Bring 'em in, the Fucko Bells and Pizza Fucks, after all everyone was just waiting for it. Yeah. But hopefully it turns out different this time and the suits fail miserably this time around. Otherwise humanity really deserves the shittification of the internet.
