yeah, we need more forks. would probably make the development healthier.
These folks have no idea what subcategory they're actually working under. Total autists, they only see the topic of Bitcoin but don't see what it operates under. It doesn't even occur to them that it's about "sovereign money." Something is seriously wrong with their mental models.
Either they can't see it or they don't truly care about sovereignty. Thankfully, being on Nostr has opened my eyes a little bit to all the underlying infrastructure this is all built on. It really presents a whole new way of looking at building on (and using) Bitcoin.
I get it when normies are too dumb and fall back into their old habits. But Luke? What is that, the longing for censorability? And isn't Discord KYC'd now?

Discord? You serious? Can't you at least use an old school mailing list or something Nostr-based? What wrong with you?
I find it funny that the core devs are using Google, and knots devs are using Discord. Poetic, and it really encapsulates the state of Bitcoin development right now.

I mean... I guess.... The khutba was pretty basic from a bitcoin perspective
Good fart, high-pitch, medium-length, loud. 7/10

SimpleX UI is so confusing though
bitcoin is for your enemies too
I like Simon, but he missed one thing: the incentive to force a consensus change in the case of #bip110 is the guarantee that the nodes still have the ability to resist a consensus change in the future. the defence mechanism, or the wall, that Simon talks about. If the number of nodes shrinks to a couple of enterprise-grade "economic nodes," the so-called fortified wall becomes irrelevant when the Trojan horse get activated at the choosing time.

sorry, i took staged and assumed you meant a closed conspiracy. so you think it is an open and obvious staging? by whom? what is the evidince of active action of staging (which like conspiracy has a high intentional bar to legally prove)?
So Bitcoin Core is captured by fiat and new fork would be a return to Satoshi's values or what? Bitcoin Core no more cypherpunk, all suitcoiners or what?
I don't care how they will name that fork, I'm not choosing marketing labels, I'm choosing principles.
Side note: I would strongly encourage reading these for understanding 21st century geopolitics.

regulation is reactionary. if the claim is toward a staged crisis you need proactive action. this is evidence for crisis exploitation (unsurprising) rather than crisis being manufactured.
what i think happens is way more dynamic. generally speaking you have 2 defauly foundations:
X = Those responding to a crisis event according to their best interests
Y = Those deliberately causing crisis events in order to obtain desired benefits
you can predict well for both of these models individually and jointly - they are both players in the game. in all the models i've run monetary gain is a very low evidentiary outcome.
burocratic systems are not robotic. in fact i think many would agree that they are highly inefficient. is government itself the cause of crisis? becuase without provable human coordination you need some mechanism to produce a staged outcome. personally i don't think systems theory alone can account for any of the current crisis we have seen. retrospective narratives often fail to account for the scale of geopolitics. the game board is much larger and has many more players vying for dominance.
the staging/conspiracy question has a very high legal bar to prove. to get there, the more important question needs to be: at what level is coordination happening? this is nuanced, not a binary.
exactly, it's after! it would need to be before the crisis to demonstrate plausibility of a manufactured crisis. M2 increasing after a crisis is just ordinary monetary policy, nothing conspiratorial.
You flip the bit ?

So you scared the shit out of him 😅😂
No idea just got the info on the app and some tweets about it so better be safe

If the majority is always right, then why do we have FRB and people enslaved by interest (riba)? Why do less and less people own the means of production? Why are we consuming more slop and unhealthy food? Why do we have unseen high divorce rates and collapsing families? Why is our art at the lowest point of human history?

"actions are judged according to their intentions"
the goal of the algorithym isn't so much to remove the agency of human action but to quietly usurpt or misdirect it. as an external force, tech only can effect what we allow it to penetrate. the more integrated into ones habit the greater the effect on ones temperment. so the feeling of Last Days can arise but whether it actually is the last days is another matter entirely. this is the way with every new technology. so intentional action must be the foundation for integrating tech into ones life. without that the heedlessness of delegating agency to the algo certainly effects ones intelectual capabilities, but it is in the way of skill usage deterioration not necessarily in cognation.
I don't get what you mean. Who's wearing a superhero suite?
Good. It's also a pita UX-wise. BTCPay had its time but it doesn't reach today's standards anymore where security meets UX. Meanwhile I hate dealing with it.
BTCPay and Alby browser add-on, both well deserved pioneers but they both need to die now.

This is “You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain” type of situation.
They make a lot of covers. Mostly in Russian though.
No way they did this!!!!!!!
One of the most useful things I use my Clanker for is creating podcasts of random things I feel like I want to learn about.
I ask it what topic I want to dive into, how many episodes I need to emphasize the depth, and off it goes.
Spits out ~20-minute podcasts that sound almost like anything you would hear on Spotify, without ads, without bullshit.
My latest is a 10-episode series on Mises.
First two ready.

Sometimes I lash out at my agent. But only after really fucking up 😅
Sudden break:
"Come to some agreement about what the honest block chain was before the trouble started, lock that in and continue from there with a new hash function." The new software would include "the new hash of all the old blocks to make sure a different block with the same old hash can't be used."

Matt truly believes it’s them against the machine. They can’t seem to see that there are 5x more pleb nodes who don’t want BIP-110.
Unless he thinks we are all captured by Michael and Larry or something.
Ego above all it seems. Just accept you don't have consensus and move on, why false promising and demonising others who don't agree with you.
5 mining pools ≠ 5 Miners.
It is hard to understand this very risky stand and dangerous advice from Matthew-in particular after all those endless lectures about Bitcoin.
Yeah, things are now getting weird.
Yeah this is becoming dangerous. Matt you are now gambling with other people’s money.
Miners are not going to switch to pick up 0.16 bitcoins, and re-org a day long chain.

It's time to monetize, guys!

The big question now is did the OG sellers back in late 2025 foresee the outcome of yesterday? Did they sense a big change to bitcoin?
Only time will tell.
🤷🏻♂️ bitcoin price has been up this week
