I tried installing it on very new hardware (testing) and i can't remember exactly what the issue was but i couldn't get it installed. I ran debian for years, way before ubuntu was around. Then ran freebsd for a while and then macos for 6-7 years.
I then finally tried ubuntu around 2013 and i was pretty happy with it. Kept my install around until 2025 when i wanted to try debian on a new rig but, yeah couldn't get it to boot properly. Didn't try very hard either, just wanted something that works.
They are really embracing the "less is more" strategy.
And i also mostly have no idea what i'm doing so that closes the circle.
Probably yeah, i'm sure I could have found ways to make it work, but i was not up for that level of customization before even getting it installed. With ubuntu I was ok going for 25.10. LTS wouldn't have worked either.
Can always reinstall debian later but I think the difference is not so much that it is worth it. If i have to reinstall anyway i'll give it another shot.
If you still want to use it you can for it and prefix it with free- or libre-.
It's main use is still 99% similar to something like twitter, so if you simply want to get rid of that style of social media or in general get less exposure to how well others seem to be doing this is very comparable.
Another reason is the same why people use WhatsApp: it's what everybody else uses, do why have another app that has nobody you cares reachable through it.

I think the most simple answer is that they only have a vague representation of a human form on the outside and zero similarities in other ways.

I think it was you that recommended "die with zero" a while ago. I added it to my to read list and finally gotten around to actually reading it and it has definitely shifted my process a bit more in the direction of experiencing things at the right time in my life (though about half has been going by already) in favor of "try to retire earlier".

That makes sense for them probably because they are nothing like humans except for vaguely representing the body parts in shape.
They have no muscle, no skin, no bones and probably the most important part is no brain.
Even if for a human this would also be the fastest way to move (which i doubt after millions of years of evolutionary shaping) it is probably not the "best" way. I can see how running like that would make you much more prone to falling, which is in most cases is much worse than being a little faster.
I'm sure you were not asking it for seriousness though but it would still be hilarious to see somebody run like that.

Pretty sure it's going to be good. So many crystals. Mold will only increase heavily. I remember waiting too long than having days of inspecting every bud with a magnifying glass for ages to ensure i wasn't just inhaling mold.

My experience is from 2012 i think but i have too many spaces it couldn't reach and basically the preparation for it to do a proper job was 80% of the work of doing it by hand so i got rid of it again and have been doing it bybhand again ever since.

Ah yeah that is the nasty side. I actually focus more on whole foods and specifically meat. It's still not 100% perfect because marbling can vary a bit between cuts, but i always get it from the same butcher who has the same beef that grazed on the same land.
Apart from that i eat a narrow amount of veggies and fruits that i also always buy from the same source.
