I still think there's the scenario where we get wiped out/left to our own demise. Definitely makes UBI possible if there's nobody to be paid.
But it sort of confirms my point. If you assume enough things it's probably possible and if we asume some other things to be true we get nothing and in a third scenario (let's call it the smartphone analogy) we have already reached peak LLM era and every next step is just a super tiny improvement on what there is already.
How do you even math something with that many known unknowns and then even greater shares of unknown unknows.

Really feel the day light fading last 2 weeks and it definitely is starting to affect my mood. It also makes me reminisc about how some 20 years ago i always loved the dark.
I know it's just a phase. Usually a month in or so it becomes normal again but it's hard to gauge if it becomes increasingly worse over the years or if this is just the same as the last 5-6 years.
I prefer to get up and see the sun at least making some kind of effort to brighten my day, now i just see more darkness for 1-2 hours before it becomes light again.

Nice. I did one last week on a big green egg but it does require some tending to temperature wise. Mine was 6kg and done in about 6 hours. I guess temp was a bit too high because not all the collagen was properly melted.
What smoker are you using? Something automated?

Yep it's mental gymnastics giving up a thorough understanding of the codebase vs making faster progress functionally vs potentially building a mediocre codebase that basically only another clanker can maintain unless you want to spend the time afterwards understanding the code you didn't write yourself.
I also find i get lazy reviewing its work, technically and functionally. It takes me 10 times longer to understand what it produced than it took the clanker to create. However i seem to still be able to yo identify weird spots in the code and when i ask questions about it the clanker mostly agrees and i can have it do some refactoring or other fixes but if i have it code review itself or use a different tool with a different model that also seems to work well.
I was never really good in thinking of useful (software) products. I was mostly good at the technical stuff. That was where the magic was for me and this is actually the thing that is now replaced the most.
I think we're now in this awkward spot where a human can still outperform a clanker if time and money are not an issue, but i can see that at some point you have to accept that it's going to be something you can do for fun but no longer for actual productivity.

Just actual butter is still a big improvement, even if you don't know the exact source or feed the cows consumed. They're ruminants so they can handle a lot of stuff and still produce quality milk and meat.
