Whatever the leverage points of State control are, separate from them and replace them with community solutions. Information,
Money, defense, utilities, food production, education, all of it.
Resistance through parallel polis.

Well to be honest, I think you’re right. It is a losing battle.
Which is why we change the battle.
Vaclav Havel’s essay “ the Power of the Powerless” discusses this whole concept. Fight the system directly, you’ll lose, remove the system from your own life, in cooperation with others, and eventually the system collapses.
He wrote it in the Soviet Union.
Turns out, he was right.
Fitting that he became President of the Czech Republic later.

Americans are obsessed with war.
We see everything through that lens. War on drugs. War in poverty. War on obesity. War war war.
We are blunt instruments trying to bash everything into submission.
What’s worse, we’re proud of it.
A perfect example of the outcome of our warfare brains is how we grow food. We try to bash things into efficient boxes of plans and structures. We declare war on nature to bend it to our will. As long as the numbers of production are correct, that’s all that matters. Pay no attention to the ever decreasing yeilds, and ever decreasing nutrient content. We will just bash more chemical fertilizers into it. Declare war on it.
We engage the world the way we engage in diplomacy. Which is to force everything. Working with nature, or with systems different to our own seems insulting. Learning the natural ebbs and flows is too difficult. Bash it. Honk your horn. Make it move faster. We just need to work harder, and push more. Make it obey.
And yet, everything happening around us right now would indicate we might reconsider our blunt instrument approach to everything.

I have struggled with insomnia for many years.
I started asking God for help with it. I then started seeing verses about “rising and seeking God early” everywhere, and I was like, “um.. yeah, that’s kinda what I’ve been asking for help with!”
Then I came across the literature about early light exposure, and what different frequencies of light do to our brains.
So for the last couple weeks, I have been waking up and standing in the sun, then eating protein. Then at 7:30 going inside into a red light environment, with night shift on my devices.
I also felt prompted to stop using a heater in the evening, to increase the variety of temperatures, amd to stop eating at night.
I seriously feel like a different person. I haven’t felt energy like this in years.
It’s not just awake energy, it’s deeper. I feel alive. Like im waking up.
I’m now researching mitochondrial health, reading “good energy” by Casey Means. My wife bought it for me after I told her the things I felt God was telling me to do, and she heard a podcast listing all of the same things. Even the temperature stuff.
I can’t tell you how encouraged I feel. God hears. And is kind. And summer is just starting…

While in NYC, @npub1hqa…t56s asked me if I agreed that while 10 years older and entering middle age, if 40 was still much better than 30. And I agree with him.
At 30, I only had a 6 month old son, and was struggling to pay my mortgage. At 40, I now had 2 kids and a much better life thanks to 10 years of growth - physical, mental, and wealth. Sure, at 30 I could party a bit harder and my back didn't hurt as often as it does now, but those things don't truly matter. My life is vastly better now compared to 10 years ago.
The point of this is to lower your time preference. Good things come to those that wait. Good things come to those that work hard and strive to improve their lives.
On a related note, I didn't get into Bitcoin until late 2020. So, I can't thank Bitcoin for my life improvements. However, I truly believe that Bitcoin is a cheat code that people have available to them today. Take advantage of it.

In England, it is not uncommon to see "wavy" brick walls. Interestingly, the design uses fewer bricks than a straight wall. A straight wall that is just one brick thick is not sturdy enough to stand alone & can be easily toppled, so they generally have a thickness of at least two or more layers of bricks, & are also reinforced at regular intervals with vertical posts serving as buttresses. But a wavy "one-brick" wall stands just fine on its own due to the arch support provided by its shape, which combines both wall & buttress. Such a structure is called a "crinkle crankle wall" "the Old English version of "zig zag." https://image.nostr.build/cb9c791b0b7bd14019830699164a1071273ea94113e1fb157d5874bb889a6bde.jpg

Democracy is one step away from Monarchy in the direction of freedom. It federates centralized State power away from a single point into several slightly less centralized points. It also allows the public to voice their opinions on who rules them.
But it is still based on State dominance, and is therefore subject to all of the potential corruption of State power, and is also rooted in the tyranny of the majority. If 3 of 5 people in a democracy vote in a direction, the remaining 2 people are dominated by the State under threat of violence.
We need to move another step away from State power into something new.
Some will say “it’s not possible! Democracy is best!”. But these are the same kinds of people who said “it’s not possible! Monarchy is best!” when the last season of change came. Others want you to explain exactly how everything will work in advance, so they can bog you down in endless semantics, and prevent any actual steps forward into the new.
But it’s time for the new. You can feel it in the air.

#Amethyst v0.87.0: Data Vending Machines (DVMs) and Gossip Model
This version adds support for Data Vending Machines for content discovery. You can request a job by simply navigating to the 4th tab and choosing one of the DVMs. It also starts our support for the Inbox/Gossip model. The relay setup screen has been rewritten to support the many types of relays Amethyst will start to use. Please add your relays as you see fit.
Our video caching system has been improved. Most of the high-bandwidth use of the app in the last month has been due to a faulty caching system for some video types. The app was just downloading them at every playback. In a similar way, the caching system for encrypted events has been massively improved. The app should feel visibly lighter at this point.
If you generated your keys from NIP-06 seed words you can now type them on the login screen to start the app. We are not generating seeds yet, but this will be available in the upcoming versions.
We are also moving to deprecate and remove most of the NIP-04 usage in the app. In the future, users won't be able to send new NIP-04 DMs but the history of past DMs will be available for as long as we can support it.
