There's been good debate here about nuclear vs renewables. While nuclear can be part of a sustainable power portfolio, we need to recognize it's damnably expensive.

Nuclear is the only energy with rising lifetime costs over time and is currently the most expensive option - roughly 3x the cost of solar and wind.

Note: costs do not include externalities, like carbon emissions, making natural gas appear much cheaper than in reality. In fact, all forms are too cheap.
