I work in a 'male-dominated' environment, and it took me a while to learn that when a man starts to argue that I (or another man) has made a mistake, or made a bad choice, or done something harmful to the project at hand they're not 'attacking me' (or the other man) but actually offering useful input. And just because they thought you made a mistake or did something dumb doesn't mean they think you yourself are bad, stupid or wrong. Agree, accept the criticism, or argue back, but don't take their criticism to mean that they hate you (at least not any more than men typically hate women).
