History doesn't repeat itself, but beware:
In the elections of Nov 1932, the Nazis got "only" 33.1% (196 of 584 seats). The communists got 16.9% (100 seats).
But this meant that all other parties, even if they cooperated (which they wouldn't), now lacked a majority.
Right nationalists decided it was now time to then rule with the Nazis - and while doing so, reign them in.
In Jan 1933 Hitler was chancellor. In April state employees had to prove descent. In July all other parties were illegal.
