There is no way we can enjoy the benefits of AI without eventually suffering its catastrophic consequenses.
I can't articulate precicely *why,* and I hate to be a party pooper, but I can't shake the feeling that AI will eventually become the boot on all our necks.
Think about it this way: We all know that energy can be neither created nor destroyed; only transormed from one state to another. Some states are inert (potential) and some, when channeled/controlled to a particular end, productive (kinetic). But sometimes energy is released by nature itself, and the consequences are almost always catastrophic.
AI is set to become like energy itself, and the hubris of its proponents- sooner or later- will doom us all.
