well, i had to jigger the chip in the adapter a little, the ol unplug replug, and voila, gets 5gbit and does 700Mb/s transfers
so it's doing better, actually, than 5gbit
anyhow, all i care about is that the usb device recognises it as 5Gbit and everything is cool
