If you want to keep content at the rate/scale you have now, you'll need large corporations. And they'll always be easily censored. So if that's a requirement, then yes, you're fucked.

I realize it's not anime, but Space King is a good example of a model that seems to work out. Good quality animation, infrequent as it might be, funded largely by fan support via merchandise. It can be done, but not at the scale we're used to. So I'm just saying, either lower your expectations in the name of being free, or accept that you'll always have either globalist shitlibs or conservatard zealots adding studio notes to things you love.
