By "engage" I don't mean work from within the system. You know I would never say that.
My point is, if you give up raising a family so you can avoid the system and its traps, then you lose. You have to face the system's traps head on, engage with it as necessary, so you can do what your biology asks you to do and IF you get screwed, then "do the thing".
