I think people miss that this isn’t a call to abandon rust-on-linux (though I have no trouble believing that is what some people take away from the situation).
Someone contributing to a greenfield project isn’t necessarily willing to contribute to linux and such a project could still provide valuable insight for rust-on-linux.
