In last decade much more tactics and much less technic. Just an example is freeckics, almost none can score one anymore.. where are the Pirlo, Juninho, Mihajlovic, Ronaldinho, Del Piero etc etc.. for them was like a shooting a penalty.
VAR also isn't helping to see better games. Too many stops and delays.. IMHO.
