Even in fiction, lies are asynchronous with the ideals of society. Lies cake real ideas with mud until they are indistinguishable from soil. Ideas that persist across eons do so because they've been distilled into pure form, cruft sacrificed. These ideas are what move us towards a better future, even if their production is misaligned with the immediate needs of their distillers.
