so, because of portuguese (and european union) excessive import taxes, for about 300 euros worth of parts for my e-bike i have to pay 150 euros in taxes

and since bitcoin price is down, and i'll probably get my euros back before the bounce, i'm going to cancel the order, because i'm gonna be without a bike anyway for 2-6 weeks waiting for the freight from china anyway, i hadn't counted on it being so hard to find parts, or to have to leave the EU tax farm to acquire said parts, but the bike is damn dangerous without working brakes, and with the rear pads gone, the front ones getting close to the point they could pop out like the front ones, if that happens at 40km/h as i'm on a hill where there is literally no way for me to stop except to slam into a side wall or jump off and bust my ankles and wrists i'm gonna decline

probably will get a substantial part of my cost back on the original purchase just by this refund at this point, when the bitcoin bounce kicks in

so i'm back to walking around



i hate the EU

i'm definitely leaving it for good end of this year, and at minimum to Bosnia and if i get lucky, Mongolia - probably will have to wait for march next year for mongolia tho, not sensible to try and move there in the peak of winter
