I have some experience with W3C (both good and bad) and use Firefox (Mozilla) as my current browser of choice but have no direct experience with EFF. I do understand why Google funds Mozilla and don't hold that against Mozilla, it's a Google political ploy that they hope will fend off monopoly charges (but it hasn't).
But what makes you think that either EFF or Mozilla are opposed to or hinder the openweb?
