This is the most frequent question I see regarding Pixelfed

It sounds confusing, but this is the easiest way I've discovered:

• From your @ mastodon account - search for the Fediverse version of your @ Pixelfed account, using the search bar, usually at the top of the # (hashtag) tab
• click open to display the Fediverse version of your Pixelfed account
• click the "Follow" (even though they are Federated, the Fediverse doesn't know you are the same person - even if you've linked them in your profiles)
So now, your Mastodon follows your Pixelfed, and the posts will hit your HOME timeline the same as anyone else you've followed. (It isn't always "instant" ... sometimes a slight delay).

You can also hit the "bell" option on the Fediverse version of your Pixelfed profile, which adds it to your notifications, and you can "boost/re toot/re blog" it from there.

You can also do the exact same in reverse -

• Open Your Pixelfed account
• use the search bar, usually at the top of the Pixelfed screen to type your Mastodon handle
• click to open/view the Pixelfed version of your Mastodon account
• Click Follow from there, and now all of your Mastodon posts will be in your Pixelfed home timeline.
