Men seem to be associated with the extremes. For example, it is often only men who are considered to be capable of genius when it comes to anything. At the same time, men are also commonly seen as responsible for doing stuff so dumb that just reading about it will kill your brain cells. Men are often seen as the ones who can achieve the highest form of spirituality or closeness to the gods whereas women in many belief systems are barred from becoming a leader in any sense at best and are seen as innately anti-spiritual at worst. At the same time, men are responsible for the most depraved stuff anyone could ever come up with. In other words, men are always the protagonists. They're always the chosen, the damned, and the redeemed. Not sure where I'm going with this thought, but it's a thought I'm having.
