when I reached 18, in Spain military service was MANDATORY then. There was a lottery that determined where you will be doing such service for 18 months. And I objected even when I was at risk to enter in prison. Luckly the goverment decided to change the law due to the huge number of young people that started to object and protest against a mandatory military service.
Americans should rephrase what Kennedy said: "Ask what your country must do for you and ask what you must not do for your country. " 😏
