I just looked this up and apparently in the canon only 74 civilians died in the final battle of the first Avengers film. It's been over a decade since I watched that capeslop, but I remember seeing multiple skyscraper collapses in the middle of NYC. Only 74 total casualties is literally more of a fantasy than superpowered people fighting physical manifestations of the Nordic pantheon.
