I feel your pain. I got an 80mm lens for my old C33 body, but it wouldn't crank, so I assumed the body was bad. I got another body that worked fine out of the box but soon wouldn't focus at infinity. (Refunded.) Ordered another body that happened to have an 80mm attached, and the frame counting was bad. But I swapped the new 80mm for the one on my old camera, and this combo now works great. Go figure.
Everything was working when sent to me. Age brings a certain fragility....
