How am I getting on with #ChimeraLinux so far you ask ?
Well actually better than I thought to be honest. Yes I've come across some stuff when transferring my dot files across that just don't work. But that's because basically it's #FreeBSD with a #Linux kernel which is handy as it means hardware that wouldn't work on FreeBSD works here. For instance my Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 Gen 1 doesn't work on FreeBSD.
Other quirks like the ls command certain options I had in my alias just don't exist in the BSD world like --group-directories-first so you just have to work around things.
Other things I've noticed is missing packages which of course you the user are welcome to build and submit new packages but just mentioning on their IRC and the devs instantly provided the requested missing packages. I even found a few bugs in the likes of their Bash package which got resolved the instant I reported them.
Has musl caused me any real issues ? No not as yet and I have everything running that I had before. I've still a few quirks to iron out from my own scripts but they'll be easily resolved and TBH it gets the old grey matter working. I guess remembering that the userland is FreeBSD and not GNU/Linux will take a little time getting used to but honestly I love it. Not that I use #Plasma6 but I see recently they are pushing it's packages on Chimera Linux so that's another positive for new users who don't want to install Gnome or build their own WM package.
