I know plenty of people who wonder why I bother with the effort to connect as much of my stuff as possible via Ethernet cable.
I'm transferring files in to one of my servers. Over 802.11AC (I think that's wifi 5), despite being only like 12 feet, line of sight, from the access point, and the link speed claiming 325Mb/sec, the transfer was 10 MiB/sec.
I switched to an Ethernet cable, and a beat up one at that, and got 30 to 75 MiB/sec.
I will always cable when I can.
