It never ceases to amaze me when adults claim they can't tell the difference between a kid liking a different TV show that week and them wishing they were dead every day of their lives because of intense dysphoria.
People will make this argument as if children are just malfunctioning machines producing random outputs and not human beings with feelings and a sense if identity, and who are often afraid of being attacked over it even by their own parents.
