as an aside: hmm what's the best way to do "markup” for screenreaders? do they understand Markdown syntax, for example? Or do they just read out “asterisk emphasized words here asterisk”?
(real question: assuming there is *any* such support, what's best-supported between asterisk/underscore/slash?)
