Beat Ori & the Will of the Wisps. It was good! Not perfect of course, but a good followup to the original with some very fun evolutions in the platforming and combat. Kept the good parts (gorgeous artwork, great music, incredibly snappy and just-challenging-enough platforming).
Did have some absolutely bullshit boss sequences, but that's why I play on Easy 🫠 it made them merely frustrating and/or “ok I gotta look up wtf I'm missing here”.

So far I've just kept this thing in "xbox emulating mode" instead of "switch pro emulating mode” because while I /do/ love Switch style screenshot button and I /do/ hate having ~2 completely useless buttons on my gamepad, Steam has halfway decent "chording" configuration, and this controller is responsive enough that using said chording isn't much of a pain.
So it's back to ye olde "home button + right trigger" for screencaps for meeeeee

#8bitdo makes nice hardware. I had them down as "only for retro gaming needs" (which I do not have, I played most of that stuff already when it was new, 👴) but they branched out!
My only gripe with this Ultimate 2C Wireless is stuff not their fault, like "you can have analog triggers XOR a screenshot button", thanks Windows/Steam/whomsever's fault that is.
Well ok, I can also gripe that 8BD's desktop app doesn't support anything but firmware updates. No macros to work around the above!

Awwwww the 8bitdo controller I got doesnt know how to tell Steam about its extra buttons (the share and star ones). That’s unfortunate.
I apparently might be able to make it show up as a Switch controller (the irony, as it is replacing one) to fix that, but then the triggers would no longer be analog, which has been a nice upgrade otherwise.

Basically everything I could reasonably get for lunch that isn't labor-intensive cook-your-own-from-farm-to-table-ingredients is one of
a) bad for me (red meat, pizza, lots of processed grains, etc)
b) recently likely to contain E. coli or Listeria (salad veggies, deli meat, chicken)
c) something I'm already eating a lot of and am pretty sick of (fish, tofu)
Makes it super easy to end up in a low blood sugar analysis paralysis spiral!

Adjustable sit-stand desks for /truly short people/ just don't exist, do they? 😩
(I don't actually need sit-stand anymore, thanks ankle, but given how hard it has been to dial in the ergonomics, a fully fixed option just seems like a horrible idea. Also, 99.9% of fixed options are /also/ the wrong height for me.)

Raycast has two strikes for me: the AI, and being implemented in "you are not allowed to use ANYTHING else for a desktop GUI app in the 2020s” JavaScript. I use plenty of JS apps on the daily (hi Obsidian!) but my app/file/etc launcher /cannot/ have any excuses to be slow 😂

Fed up with #macOS' #Spotlight. No fuzzyfinder, in 2024; no real drilldown; the way it organizes/sorts results are unintuitive. I shouldn't have to remember what /format/ a document is to go "oh right I oughtta scroll down a bunch to see PDFs” 😩
