If you don't mind having stock smog era 302 power numbers there were a series of GM trucks made for the military 84-86 that all had the 6.2 diesel. Not a powerhouse but it's all mechanical and can get 20mpg highway if its geared right. Usually 20-30% cheaper than a similar condition civilian square body.
