this is why i've been focused on community work and scholarship for the last 5 years - community is how queer folk survive and thrive in a world that doesn't want us.

I really encourage everyone to start local - go to small lgbtq events and just talk to organizers. They have networks and by collaborating with them, you'll not only have backup plans ans support, but you'll also feel your power in your work and be able to build on that together.

And you can alwayd reach out to trans focused orgs and get involved too.
