Dad is here, and I am reminded again that there's a Kaiser-i-hind medal just lying about at home. Like, we know that great - granddad (my father's grandfather) received this, but no one seems to know what for? Why was the British Indian government handing out a medal to an eye surgeon?! All documentation has been lost during the partition. Ah well.
